An Edge Profile Adaptive Bi-directional Diffusion Interpolation

In this paper, we propose an edge profile adaptive bi-directional diffusion interpolation method which consists of shock filter and level set. In recent years many interpolation methods have been proposed but all methods have some degrees of artifacts such as blurring and jaggies. To solve these problems, we adaptively apply shock filter and level set method where shock filter enhances edge along the normal direction and level set method removes jaggies artifact along the tangent direction. After the initial interpolation, weights of shock filter and level set are locally adjusted according to the edge profile. By adaptive coupling shock filter with level set method, the proposed method can remove jaggies artifact and enhance the edge. Experimental results show that the average PSNR and MSSIM of our method are increased, and contour smoothness and edge sharpness are also improved.
Energy Minimization Based Semantic Video Object Extraction

In this paper, we propose a semi-automatic method for semantic video object extraction which extracts meaningful objects from an input sequence with one correctly segmented training image. Given one correctly segmented image acquired by the user's interaction in the first frame, the proposed method automatically segments and tracks the objects in the following frames. We formulate the semantic object extraction procedure as an energy minimization problem at the fragment level instead of pixel level. The proposed energy function consists of two terms: data term and smoothness term. The data term is computed by considering patch similarity, color, and motion information. Then, the smoothness term is introduced to enforce the spatial continuity. Finally, iterated conditional modes (ICM) optimization is used to minimize energy function in a globally optimal manner. The proposed semantic video object extraction method provides faithful results for various types of image sequences.
Mahalanobis Distance Cross-Correlation for Illumination-Invariant Stereo Matching

<P>A robust similarity measure called the Mahalanobis distance cross-correlation (MDCC) is proposed for illumination-invariant stereo matching, which uses a local color distribution within support windows. It is shown that the Mahalanobis distance between the color itself and the average color is preserved under affine transformation. The MDCC converts pixels within each support window into the Mahalanobis distance transform (MDT) space. The similarity between MDT pairs is then computed using the cross-correlation with an asymmetric weight function based on the Mahalanobis distance. The MDCC considers correlation on cross-color channels, thus providing robustness to affine illumination variation. Experimental results show that the MDCC outperforms state-of-the-art similarity measures in terms of stereo matching for image pairs taken under different illumination conditions.</P>

In this paper, we present a novel method for local image descriptor called exact order based descriptor (EOD) which is robust to illumination changes and Gaussian noise. Exact orders of image patch is induced by changing discrete intensity value into k-dimensional continuous vector to resolve the ambiguity of ordering for same intensity pixel value. EOD is generated from overall distribution of exact orders in the patch. The proposed local descriptor is compared with several state-of-the-art descriptors over a number of images. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms many state-of-the-art descriptors in the presence of illumination changes, blur and viewpoint change. Also, the proposed method can be used for many computer vision applications such as face recognition, texture recognition and image analysis.

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between metabolic syndrome and suicidal ideation in Korean. This study was based on the 2010 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. A questionnaire was used to measure suicidal ideation and physical examination was performed to measure waist circumference, blood pressure, fasting glucose, cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Complex samples logistic regression was performed to estimate the relationship between metabolic syndrome and suicidal ideation among adults and adolescents. Subjects with metabolic syndrome were more likely to have suicidal ideation in adult. There would be essential needs to evaluate suicidal ideation in adult with metabolic syndrome and to follow up suicidal ideation in adolescents with metabolic syndrome.
Oil drain과 tilting angle간의 상관관계

Engine lubrication system is generally affected by vehicle driving conditions, which are composed of acceleration, braking deceleration and cornering. The major reason is due to the oil pan system in which oil is directly influenced by inertia force. On the specific vehicle condition, engine oil is in contact with crankshaft in oil pan system, followed by oil churning phenomenon. The crankcase & head system pressure by oil churning phenomenon are gradual increased. It cause oil pull over phenomenon at engine breather line and oil over-consumption. In order to improve oil reduction and oil pull over phenomenon are also considered in the developing state. For the purpose, experimental test result show that a correlation between engine tilting angle and oil drain was affected by the higher crankcase pressure. The data from present study are available for the engine lubrication system.
Analysis of Isolation System for Impulsive Force Device with Recoil Mechanism

In this study the optimal isolation system for the prototype HIFD(high impulsive force device) is investigated. For this purpose, firstly, the dynamic behavior of a human body and a transmitted force under specific operation conditions are analyzed through a series of experimental works using the devised test setup. In order to design the optimal dynamic absorbing system, the parameter optimization process is performed using the simplified isolation system model based on the experimental results of linear impulse and transmitted force. Finally, under the parameters satisfying the constraints of the buffering displacement and the transmitted force, the performance of the designed isolation system for the prototype HIFD is evaluated by experiment.
