Energy Minimization Based Semantic Video Object Extraction

In this paper, we propose a semi-automatic method for semantic video object extraction which extracts meaningful objects from an input sequence with one correctly segmented training image. Given one correctly segmented image acquired by the user's interaction in the first frame, the proposed method automatically segments and tracks the objects in the following frames. We formulate the semantic object extraction procedure as an energy minimization problem at the fragment level instead of pixel level. The proposed energy function consists of two terms: data term and smoothness term. The data term is computed by considering patch similarity, color, and motion information. Then, the smoothness term is introduced to enforce the spatial continuity. Finally, iterated conditional modes (ICM) optimization is used to minimize energy function in a globally optimal manner. The proposed semantic video object extraction method provides faithful results for various types of image sequences.
Oil drain과 tilting angle간의 상관관계

Engine lubrication system is generally affected by vehicle driving conditions, which are composed of acceleration, braking deceleration and cornering. The major reason is due to the oil pan system in which oil is directly influenced by inertia force. On the specific vehicle condition, engine oil is in contact with crankshaft in oil pan system, followed by oil churning phenomenon. The crankcase & head system pressure by oil churning phenomenon are gradual increased. It cause oil pull over phenomenon at engine breather line and oil over-consumption. In order to improve oil reduction and oil pull over phenomenon are also considered in the developing state. For the purpose, experimental test result show that a correlation between engine tilting angle and oil drain was affected by the higher crankcase pressure. The data from present study are available for the engine lubrication system.

In order to meet global requirement in terms of fossil fuel capacity and carbon dioxide reduction alternative fuels such as ethanol, methanol, LPG, and CNG have been widely applied to automotive internal combustion engines. In general, it is well known that the engine originally based on gasoline fuel should be modified with hardened materials especially for valves and valve seats to cope with these alternative fuels. This is because alternative fuels can cause valve burning and seat wear due mainly to different combustion characteristics and thermal management is one of key control parameters for engine development. This study has been performed to find a way to optimize engine calibration in addition to right selection of hardened materials for gaseous fuel application such as LPG and CNG. A correlation between valve temperature, exhaust gas temperature and valve system wear has been experimentally analyzed and reported.
Oil Jet System이 Engine Friction에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구

The purpose of the oil jet is to provide oil to the underside of piston for cooling and noise attenuation. If the oil jet is used, there are some additional considerations like oil flow rate, oil pressure and oil temperature. To solve these problems, oil cooler and oil pump size-up can be applied. But in this case, the friction torque will increase. In this study, it was confirmed that the friction torque increases as using the oil jet system - oil jet, oil cooler and oil pump size-up. Also the portion of friction torque by each part was measured by changing engine assembly condition. The friction torque by oil jet and oil pump size-up was similar. The friction torque by oil cooler was as twice as by others.

MLA system is used to reduce cost and friction. But MLA system doesn't have the ability of controlling the clearance between cams and valves. MLA glade is selected by measuring the distance between valves and cams to minimize the clearance of valves considering thermal expansion of valves. So, after fully warming-up periods the valve clearance is nearly zero, but before warming-up, there is a valve clearance. Especially at cold condition, the clearance is relatively large and can cause some problems. In this study, valve motion like velocity, life and rotation was studied at various valve clearance conditions by changing MLA grades.

본 논문에서는 비전 시스템을 기반으로 한 조명변화에 강인한 실시간 차선 검출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 카메라의 기하학적 특성을 이용하여 ROI 를 설정하고, ROI 내에서 검색범위를 설정하여 한 방향에 대한 차선을 검출하고 도로의 지형적 특성을 고려하여 반대편 차선을 추정한다. 히스토그램에서 상위 5%의 밝기 값을 가지는 픽셀에 대해서 이진화를 진행함으로써 일반적인 조명변화에 대해서 강인한 모습을 보이며, ROI 및 검색 범위를 설정함으로써 기존 알고리즘에 비해 빠른 검출이 가능해진 알고리즘이다.
