한용운 시의 ‘숭고’ 연구 - 시집 『님의 침묵』을 중심으로 -

본 연구는 한용운 시에 드러난 님과의 합일에 대한 열망과 그에 대한 주체의 태도를 ‘숭고’라는 미학적 관점에서 규명해 보고자 하였다. 숭고는 최근 연구자들에 의해 시의 미학적 측면을 규명하는데 관심을 불러일으키고 있다. 이 연구에서는 첫 번째로 ‘님의 부재’라는 고통 속에서 ‘님’을 무한성의 초월적 실재로 상정하고 그 초월적 실재에 합일하려는 열망을 보여주고 있음을 살폈다. 이를 통해 강렬한 파토스로서의 숭고를 지니고 있음을 규명할 수 있었다. 두 번째로 숭고한 표상으로서의 자연인식의 양상을 살펴 자연에 숭고한 표상을 부여하는 주체의 심적 태도는 어떤 것인지를 고찰해 보았다. 주체는 자연에 숭고의 표상을 부여함으로써 ‘님’의 실재에 다가가려는 욕망을 표출하고 있음을 알수 있었으며. 님에게 자연의 숭고한 표상을 부여하는 과정에서 자신 속에 크고 높은 사유능력이 존재한다는 것을 보여주는 도정에서 체험될 수 있는 것이었음을 밝혔다. 세번째로 자유의 부정성과 숭고의 역설의 의미를 파헤쳐 보았다. 자유의 부정성과 숭고의 역설은 주체가 자유롭고 독립적인 도덕적 존재로서의 인간의 모습을 발견하고 힘과 위안을 얻으며, 모순과 불일치로부터 솟아나는 숭고한 자유를 경험할 수 있는 것임을 밝혔다. The study sought to identifty the subject desire for unity with Nim in Han Yong-un's poem from the aesthetic perspective of ‘sublime’. The ‘sublime’ has recently been attracting interest in identifying the aesthetic aspects of poetry. In this study, firstly, in the suffering of the absence of Nim's existence, we have looked at the transcendent reality of infinity and have shown that the subject shows a desire to unite in transcendental reality. through this, it was possible to identify that it possesses sublime as intense Patos. Secondly, I looked at the aspect of nature recognition as a sublime representation, and examined what kind of psychological attitude of the subject gives a sublime representation to nature. The subject was able to express its desire to approach the reality of Nim by giving nature a representation of sublime. it revealed that the subject could be experienced at a path that showed that he had a large and high capacity of reason in the process of giving ‘Nim’ a sublime representation of nature. Third, I have explored the meaning of the negativity of freedom and the paradox of spirituality. The negativity of liberty and the paradox of sublime is that the subject can discover human beings as free and independent moral beings, get strength and comfort, and experience sublime freedoms that arise from contradictions and disagreements.

해방기 시적 주체의 현실인식과 시적대응 연구 -설정식의 해방기 시를 중심으로-

이 논문은 해방기 시적 주체의 현실인식과 시적대응양상을 설정식 시인의 해방기 시들을 통해 살펴본 것이다. 설정식은 당대 혼란기의 리얼리즘 시가 요구하는 철저한 민족현실반영과 민족의 미래에의 가능성을 누구보다도 뛰어나게 형상화해 온 시인이었다고 할 수 있다. 현실에 대한 인식과 반영은 그의 시에서 서사성과 서술성의 강화로 드러났으며, 그 세부적인 기법으로 르포나 스케치 등의 기법을 원용하여 해방기 현실을 살아가는 우리민족의 현실을 보다 효과적으로 드러내고자 노력하였다. 그 구체적인 면모를 「임우」, 「작별」, 「진혼곡」등의 시들을 분석하여 시 속에 사건을 드러내면서 서사성을 통해 민족 현실을 드러내고 양상을 살펴 보았다. 또한 「신문이 커졌다」, 「스케치」등을 분석하여 세부적인 기법이 어떻게 구체적으로 드러나고 있는지를 알 수 있었다. 또한 설정식은 시 속에 영웅적 인물을 형상화는 노력을 보여주기도 하였다. 이러한 그의 노력이 드러나는 시는 「붉은 아가웨 열매를」이었다. 이 작품에서는 미래에 펼쳐진 꿈에 대한 확고한 전망, 그리고 그것을 위한 투쟁의 열기와 신념을 가진 영웅적 인물로서의 청춘이 낭만적 정조와 함께 형상화되고 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 그의 현실인식은 나아가 미래에의 가능성에 대한 전망으로 드러나는 데 그것은 예언자 적 목소리를 빌려 드러나고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러한 면모를 지닌 시 「제신의 분노」를 분석하여, 당시의 시적 요구였던 긍정적 영웅의 형상화 문제와 낙관적 미래 전망의 문제를 성서적 서사 공간으로 치환시켜 드러내는 예언자적 목소리를 살펴 볼 수 있었다. 설정식은 해방기 좌우 대립의 이념 선택의 갈등 속에서 비극적인 생애를 살다간 시인 이었다. 해방기의 이념대립이 단순한 이분법적 측면으로서가 아닌 민족의 미래를 위한 것으로서 변증법적 전망을 띠고 있었다는 점을 전제한다면, 설정식은 민족의 현실을 형상화하는 데 있어 누구보다도 치열했고, 예언자적 목소리를 통해서 민족의 미래에 대한 전망을 제시하고자 했던 한 민족 시인으로 현대 시사에 자리매김 될 수 있으리라 본다. This thesis is a study on a poet, Seol Jung-Sik`s(poetic main agent) perception of reality and poetic responses in the period of liberation. Seol Jung-Sik is a poet who was excellent at expressing the thorough reflection of people`s reality and the possibility of people`s future which were required to the realistic poems in such chaotic times. The perception and reflection of reality were shown as strong narration and description in his poems as also trying to effectively show our people`s reality in the period of liberation by using detailed techniques like reportage and sketch. By analyzing his poems including ``A Long-Continued Rain``, ‘Farewell`` and ``Requiem``, we examined the aspect of people`s reality through narration. We also understood how the detailed techniques were shown by analyzing ``A paper got bigger.`` and ``Sketch``. Seol Jung-Sik showed an attempt to embody a heroic figure in his poem, ‘A Red Haw``. In this work, the youth of a heroic figure with belief and passion of struggle for his firm prospect about the future was embodied with romantic atmosphere. His perception of reality is shown as a prospect about the possibility in the future as borrowing a voice of a prophet. By analyzing a poem, ``Gods`` Anger`, we examined a voice of a prophet that showed a positive hero`s imagery and the optimistic future prospect in biblical narrative space. Seol Jung-Sik is a poet who lived a tragic life within the ideological confrontation between the right and left in the period of liberation. Under the premise that the ideological confrontation in the period of liberation showed not a simple dichotomized prospect, but a dialectical prospect for the future of our people, Seol, Jung-Sik was more fierce to embody the reality of our people than anybody else and also aimed to show the future prospect of our people through the voice of a prophet, which means that he can be remembered as a national poet in the modern history of poetry.

김수영 시의 미의식 연구 - "숭고" 지향성을 중심으로-

이 논문은 김수영 시의 미의식을 ‘숭고’의 관점에서 분석한 것이다. 김수영에게 ‘생활’은 그 자체로서 숭고의 부정성을 드러내는 것이었으며, 그 부정성을 통한 숭고의 저항적계기로서의 시를 추구해 왔다. 이러한 그의 저항성은 그의 시에서 무한성의 추구로 드러난다. 일반적 숭고 이론에 따르면 숭고는 ‘거대한 것’, ‘무한한 것’으로 주어진 대상에 관계하는 것이다. 하지만 김수영의 무한성의 추구는 평범한 소재에 무한성과 영원성을 부여하여 그 자체 내에 숭고의 계기를 내장함으로써 시적 주체로 하여금 주체 내부에서 시적 숭고의 계기를 추동하는 형식을 보여주고 있었다. 4.19 혁명 이후 김수영의 시는 혁명의 좌절에 대한 부정적 숭고를 시로서 교란하는 행위를 통해 숭고의 저항적 계기를 추구하였다. 김수영은 ‘용감한 착오’라는 내적 숭고의 추구를 통해 자유의 정신과 만나게되는 것이다. 하지만 그 자유는 다시 ‘자본’이라는 부정적 숭고와 맞닥뜨리게 된다. 그것을 극복하기 위하여, 그는 ‘거대한 뿌리’라는 숭고의 계기를 창출해 내면서, 그 속에서 속물화되는 자신의 자기폭로를 통해 ‘사랑’의 ‘내적 숭고’를 추동할 수 있었다. 김수영의 시의 ‘숭고’에 독특한 양상은 부단히 새로운 숭고의 계기를 시를 통해 탐색해왔다는 것이라 할 수 있다. 작고 보잘 것 없는 사물들에 ‘크고 위대하고 깊이 있는’ 숭고를 부여하는 작업을 김수영이 해냈다는 점에서 의의를 가진다고 할 수 있을 것이다. In this study, poems of Suyoung Kim were analyzed in the perspective of ‘Sublimity’. To him, ‘Life’ itself showed negativity of Sublimity, and he pursued poems as a resistant opportunity of Sublimity through the negativity His resistance is revealed as pursuit of infinity in is poems. According to Sublimity theory, loftiness has relationship with given objects as ‘something great’ and ‘something infinite’. However, his pursuit of infinity instills infinity and eternity into ordinary objects, so the opportunity of Sublimity is equipped in itself, showing the form that the poetic subject instigates the opportunity of Sublimity inside the subject. After April 14 revolution, the poems of Suyoung Kim pursue opportunity of resistance through the activity of disturbing negative Sublimity for frustration of revolution by poems. It is revealed in the poems, ‘becoming a boy’ and ‘becoming a child’. Through ‘becoming’, Suyoung Kim meets freedom and sprit via pursuit of inner Sublimity named ‘brave mistake’. However, the freedom faces negative Sublimity called ‘money’. To overcome it, he created opportunity of Sublimity of ‘gigantic root’, and through self-disclosure of becoming a materialistic person, he could instigate ‘inner Sublimity’ of ‘love’. Unique features of ‘Sublimity’ of Suyoung Kim have pursued new opportunity of Sublimity through poems continuously. It is meaningful in that work of instilling ‘big, great, deep’ Sublimity into small and humble objects has been done.
