본 연구는 RC교육에 참여한 학생의 관점에서 RC교육 프로그램의 교육적 효과를 사례연구방법을 토대로 분석하였다. 연구결과를 요약하여 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, RC교육 프로그램은 대학1학년 학생들에게 '폭넓은 교우관계와 소속감', '자기이해와 성장동기', '공동체의식', '자신감과 도전정신'을 형성하며, 다양한 사고에 노출될 기회를 제공함으로써 '개방적 사고와 융합적 사고'를 촉진하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학생들이 의미있게 생각하는 RC교육 프로그램의 특징적 요소로는 '융합학습’, '체험학습', '상호학습과 협력학습', '전환학습', '공유학습과 학습의 확장' 등으로 나타났다. 1학년 학생들은 RC교육 프로그램 참여를 통해 다양한 새 친구들을 만나고 함께 활동하면서 교우관계를 형성하고, 대학에 대한 소속감과 성장동기를 형성하였다. 이러한 결과는 대학1학년 학생의 RC프로그램 참여가 학생의 학문적, 사회적 통합에 도움이 되는 후속활동으로 연결되어 장기적으로 긍정적 교육 효과를 낳을 수 있음을 시사한다. 마지막으로 이 연구에서 도출된 결과에 기초하여 RC교육 프로그램 개발과 운영에 주는 시사점과 후속연구 과제를 논의하였다. This study analyzed the educational effects of the RC education program from the student's point of view using the case study method. The research results are as follows. First, the RC education program forms 'broad friendships and sense of belonging', 'self-discovery and motivation for growth', 'sense of community', and 'confidence and challenge spirit' of first year college students. In addition, it promotes open thinking by providing students with opportunities to be exposed to 'multiple perspectives'. Second, the characteristics of effective RC education programs are ‘convergence learning’, ‘experiential learning’, ‘cooperative learning’, and ‘shared learning and extended learning’ First-year students who participated in the RC education program made new friends, formed trust while doing RC activities together, and formed a sense of belonging to the university and gained motivation for academic activities. These results suggest that first-year students' participation in the RC program can lead to follow-up activities that help students' academic and social integration, which can have a positive educational effect in the long run. Finally, based on the findings of this study, implications for the development and operation of RC education programs and follow-up research tasks were discussed.

코로나19 상황에서 비대면 Residential College 교육의 효과와 의미

본 연구에서는 코로나19 사태로 인해 비대면으로 진행된 연세대학교 2020년 레지덴셜칼리지(Residential College) 교육의 효과와 의미를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 RC 교육에 참여한 학생들의 RC교육과 대학생활에 대한기대, RC교육 효과와 만족도, 역량변화에 관한 설문조사를 실시하여 기술통계분석, 빈도분석, 집단간 차이분석을하였다. 연구결과, RC교육은 학생들에게 동료 학생들과의 소통, 대학에 대한 소속감 형성, 대학생활 체험, 심리적지지, 새로운 배움의 경험을 제공했고, 비대면 RC교육을 통해 교우관계가 형성된 집단은 RC교육 참여도와 효과, 역량 향상도, 만족도가 상대적으로 더 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 온라인 비대면 상황에서도 학생의 교육참여를 이끌 수 있는 대학교육의 방향을 제시하였다. This study investigated the effects and meanings of Residential College (RC) education, which Yonsei University conducted online in 2020 under the Covid-19 pandemic. The year-end survey was conducted on the expectations of RC education and university life, the effects of RC education, satisfaction, and competency change of students who participated in RC education. As a result of the study, RC education is a new learning opportunity for communication with fellow students, forming a sense of belonging at the university, experience of university life, and psychological support. The group where friendship was formed through online RC education was relatively higher in RC education participation, competency change, and satisfaction. Based on these results, even colleges and universities where it is difficult to have an RC education system can seek out and apply active educational programs to promote student engagement in college education.
