Interactions between lymphocytes are an essential of the immune response both in vivo and in vitro. T cell-B cell cooperation in the antibody response to immunization with antigens was the first type of cellular interactions to be studied and it still remains the most widely used model system. The production of antibodies by B lymphocytes in response to most protein antigens depends on the helper function of T lymphocytes. Helper T cells provide both specific and non-specific help for B cells or for the subsets of T cells involved in cytotoxic or supressor reactions. Despite the fact that T cell-B cell cooreperation in antibcdy response has been recognized for over two decades, the fine details of the mechanism are not fully understood. The principles in cellular interactions between immunocompetant cells are one of critical areas of immunolgy to understand the two dominant topics of immunological science, immune recognition and immune regulation.
Fabrication of Fibrous Tubular Scaffolds with Cells by Electrospinning and Electrosparying

We fabricated fibrous tubular scaffolds with cells in pockets using a combination of electrospinning and electrospraying methods. The polymer solution was electrospun onto a rotating drum for the production of fibrous structures, while the cell dispersion was simultaneously electrosprayed onto the same rotating drum. Electrospun fibers were aligned on a rotating drum using conductive wires, while electrosprayed cell dispersion created pockets with cells present within the scaffold. The orientation of the aligned fibers can be adjusted based on the position of the conductive wire, which is useful for mimicking various tissues. Through the combination of our electrospinning and electrospray methods, we were able to produce tubular scaffolds with ordered fibrous structures containing living cells, allowing the cells to infiltrate and grow for a long enough time to promote efficient tissue regeneration.
뇌졸중 환자에서 소뇌 교차 해리와 환측 상지 운동 기능과의 연관성

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between crossed cerebellar diaschisis (CCD) and motor evoked potentials (MEPs) and to study the relationship between CCD and the severity and prognosis of stroke. Method: 28 patients with first-ever unilateral stroke were recruited for this study. The central motor conduction times (CMCTs) were obtained from Abductor pollicis brevis (APB) and Abductor hallucis (AH) by recording MEPs. The existence of CCD was evaluated by single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) of brain. The National Institutes of Health stroke scale (NIHSS), Motricity Index (MI), and functional outcome scales were measured. Results: The presence of CCD correlated significantly with “not evoked” MEPs in upper extremity (p<0.01). The existence of CCD was not associated with the locations (p>0.05) and volume of brain lesion (p>0.05). There was a significant correlation between the presence of CCD and lower MI score of upper extremity (p<0.05). Conclusion: The presence of CCD would indicate the damage on descending motor pathways and be associated with the severe motor impairment of upper extremity in stroke patients.
