《아모리 쇼》(1913)에 대한 미국의 반응과 모던 아트를 향한 양가적 태도

1913년 뉴욕에선 《아모리 쇼: 모던 아트의 국제 전시(Armory Show: International Exhibition of Modern Art)》가 열렸다. 20세기 초 보수적인 아카데미 미술 화단에 대항해 미국 미술가들은 ‘미국 화가와 조각가 협회(Association of American Painters and Sculptures)’를 설립, 당대 진보적인 미술 경향을 대중에게 소개하자는 취지에서 유럽 아방가르드와 미국 미술을 함께 대규모로 선보였다. 전시가 렉싱턴 에비뉴(Lexington Avenue) 69사단의 병기고(armory)에서 열렸기 때문에 장소 이름을 따서 ‘아모리 쇼’ 라고 불린다. 전시 후 미국은 모던 아트를 추구하며 새로운 미술 환경을 조성하기 시작했다. 본고는 아모리 쇼를 미술사의 일부분으로 언급하거나 모던 아트를 불러온 아방가르드의 신화 혹은 미국 미술의 전환점으로만 설명하는, 단일한 시각에서 탈피하고자 한다. 유럽에서 미국으로 미술의 중심이 옮겨가는 중요한 시점인 아모리 쇼를 전시 자체에만 집중해 심도 있게 탐구한다. 이를 위해 아모리 쇼가 가져온 파급력을 전시의 내재적 구조에서 분석하고, 아모리 쇼에 대한 미국의 다각적인 반응을 언론, 대중, 비평, 미술 화단으로 나누어 살펴본다. 이 때 전시에 출품된 작품을 비평과 같이 논의하면서 미국이 모던 아트를 수용하는 양가적인 태도, 즉 모던 아트에 반감을 표하면서도 이를 추종하는 이중적인 반응을 함께 관찰한다. 이로써 아모리 쇼가 유럽에서 미국으로 서구문화 이동의 계기이자 미국 미술사의 초석이라는 점을 고찰할 것이다. In 1913, in New York, The Armory show: International Exhibition of Modern Art was held. In the early 20th century, American artists founded ‘Association of American Painters and Sculptures’ to stand against conservative academic arts. A.A.P.S. held a large scale Armory Show by showing both European Avant-garde and American Arts to expose the new progressive art to the public. The exhibition was known as ‘Armory Show’ because of the exhibition site, an armory by 69th Regiment of Infantry in Lexington Avenue. After the show, the artists in the United States started to follow modern art and to provide institutional support of modernism. In this paper, the thesis will attempt to break the traditional perspective on the Armory Show. It will read the influence on America brought by the Armory Show in system of the exhibition. For this, it will explain the state’s various response to the Armory Show by journalists, mess, reviewers and artistic group. More importantly, this thesis will observe the state’s ambivalent stance on showing both feeling of hostility and admiration for modern art. And then, it will figure out the Armory Show itself which has been evaluated as the event that the center of Art moved from Europe to America and as well a starting point of American Art History.

Purpose: This study aims to understand the awareness, and practices of nursing students regarding patient medical information protection (PMIP). Methods: This study is a descriptive correlational research to determine the relationship between awareness and practice of PMIP. Data collection took place from August 1 to 15, 2022, with 119 nursing students from a nursing college in Daegu, South Korea. Differences in awareness and practice of PMIP according to general characteristics were analyzed using independent t-tests and one-way ANOVA. The correlation between awareness and practices was analyzed using Pearson correlation. Results: The awareness for PMIP of nursing students (4.35±0.43) was significantly higher than the performance score (4.20±0.57). By domain, the Awareness in the management domain was the highest, linked with the performance in the referral of tasks domain. However, the perception and performance scores were lower in the communication domain. PMIP awareness showed significant differences based on education type, direct lectures, and religion. Performance were higher when the education venue was the university. There was a strong correlation between nursing students’ awareness and practice of PMIP. Conclusion: To enhance nursing students’ awareness and practices in patient personal information protection, the development of educational programs reflecting the higher effectiveness of school-based education compared to hospital-based education is necessary.
