연료와 CO<sub>2</sub> 농도분석을 이용한 아역청탄 화력발전소의 온실가스 배출계수 개발

The main purpose of this study was to develop the greenhouse gas emission factor for power plant using sub-bituminous coal. In Korea, Fired power plant are a major source of greenhouse gases within the fossil fuel combustion sectors, thus the development of emission factors is necessary to understand the characteristics of the national specific greenhouse gas emission and to develop nation specific emission factors. These emission factors were derived from the $CO_2$ concentrations measurement from stack and fuel analysis of sub-bituminous coal. Caloric value of sub-bituminous coal used in the power plants were 5,264 (as received basis), 5,936 (air-dried basis) and 6,575 kcal/kg (dry basis). The C emission factors by fuel analysis and $CO_2$ concentration measurement was estimated to be 26.7(${\pm}0.9$), 26.3(${\pm}2.8$)tC/MJ, respectively. Our estimates of C emission factors were comparable with IPCC default value.
Passive Sampler 를 이용한 대도시의 대기질 평가

Filter badge type sampler has not been widely used to evaluate air quality over large cities in Korea while it can be successfully used for multi-point sampling and analysis. We evaluated the passive sampler as a new tool to monitor air quality over large cities. We latticed Metropolitan Seoul into 2 × 2Km to give 136 points. NO₂ concentrations were measured at all the points in the Spring and Summer of 1997. According to the passive sampler data, natural green zones generally recorded lower NO₂ concentrations than major streets and traffic congestion areas. Passive samplers with abundant 136 points gave more detailed picture of NO₂ distribution while auto-monitoring network did not clearly provide the characteristics of local land use. Also, passive samplers gave 15% higher values than auto-monitoring network. The correlation between the two values appears very high judging from the regression slope of 0.92 and correlation coefficient of 0.91. This study clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of the passive sampler as a tool to monitor air quality over large cities.
가톨릭 생태영성과 생태환경 활동 활성화를 통한 기후위기 극복

인류가 현재 기후위기에서 벗어나기 위해서는 문제의 근본 원인을 돌아보는 ‘생태적 각성’이 선행되어야 한다. 생태학적 각성에 필요한 ‘생태 영성’을 성서의 가르침과 프란치스코 성인의 자연관에서 찾아보았다. 또, 생태신학자이자 지구학자인 토마스 베리 신부의 ‘생태대’ 영성과 프란치스교 교황 회칙 『찬미받으소서』를 통해 현대 환경위기를 벗어나기 위한 생태영성을 찾아보았다. 예수님께서 “네 이웃을 너 자신과 같이 사랑해야 한다.”고 하신 말씀을, 프란치스코 성인은 모든 피조물을 ‘형제자매’로 여기는 인격적인 만남으로 실천하였다. 자연의 기능을 있는 그대로 받아들이고, 보호하고 돌봐야 한다는 토마스 베리의 영성도 프란치스코 성인의 영성과 다름이 없다. 프란치스코 교황은 회칙『찬미받으소서』 발표하면서, 현대 환경위기의 본질과 특히 기후위기 극복을 위한 영성을 제안하셨다. 교황 회칙 『찬미받으소서』는 생태환경 활동을 사목 활동의 중심에 위치시켰다. 가톨릭 생태환경 활동을 활성화하여 기후위기를 극복하기 위해서는 신자들의 ‘생태 감성’을 높여야 하며, 본당이 생태환경 활동의 중심이 되어야 한다. 또, 다양한 가톨릭 생태공동체와의 협업과 연대 활동을 활성화하여야 한다. In order for mankind to escape from the current climate emergency, “ecological awakening” must be preceded by reflecting on the root cause of the problem. Ecological spirituality, which is needed for ecological awakening, was found in the scriptures of the Bible and in Saint Francis’s teaching on nature. In addition, we looked for ecological spirituality to escape the present environmental crisis through the Spirit of Ecology of Father Thomas Berry, an ecological theologian and geologist, and ‘Holy See’ - Encyclical Letter ‘LAUDATO SI’ of the Holy Father Francis on Care for Our Common Home. The words Jesus said, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” were practiced by Saint Francis as a personal encounter that regarded all creatures as brothers and sisters. Thomas Berry’s spirituality, which calls for accepting, protecting and caring for the function of nature as it is, is the same as that of Saint Francis. Pope Francis proposed the ecological spirituality to overcome the climate emergency, announced by the ‘Holy See’. Encyclical Letter ‘LAUDATO SI’has placed ecological environmental activities at the center of pastoral activities. In order to overcome the climate emergency by revitalizing Catholic ecological environmental activities, the “ecological sensibility” of believers should be raised, and the local catholic church should be the center of ecological environmental activities. In addition, cooperation and solidarity activities with various Catholic ecological communities should be promoted.
Dynamic Flux Chamber를 이용한 소사육시설의 암모니아 플럭스 및 배출계수 평가

Atmospheric ammonia is a very important constituent of the environment because it is the dominant alkaline gaseous species present in the atmosphere. Ammonia is known to affect ecosystems at relatively low concentration. In this study flux profiles of ammonia emitted from the cattle housing were evaluated using a dynamic flux chamber (DFC). We have developed the emission factor of $NH_3$ from the cattle housing. Analysis of ammonia flux variation was made with respect to such variables as manure surface temperature, pH, and ammonium concentration. Ammonia flux has been measured up to summer in 2007 at calf and cattle housing. In the fall, average ammonia flux from calf and cattle housing was estimated as 1.406 (${\pm}0.947$) and 1.534 ((${\pm}0.956$) $mg\;m^2\;min^1$, respectively. In the winter, average ammonia flux was estimated 1.060 ((${\pm}0.569$) from the calf housing and 1.216 ((${\pm}0.655$) $mg\;m^2\;min^1$ from the cattle housing. The correlation coefficient (R=0.732) between ammonia flux and manure surface ammonium concentration exhibited stronger relationship than manure surface pH and temperature. In the fall, ammonia emission factor from calf and cattle housing was estimated as 3.94 ((${\pm}2.66$) and 11.41 ((${\pm}5.86$) kg-$NH_3$ animal$^1\;yr^1$, respectively. In the winter, ammonia average flux was estimated as 2.89 ((${\pm}1.59$) from the calf housing and 6.51 ((${\pm}3.67$) kg-$NH_3$ animal$^1\;yr^1$ from the cattle housing.
