Combustion dynamics of a dry low NOx gas turbine have been measured by utilizing a dynamic pressure measurement system. The software part of the measurement system, implemented with a commercial general-purpose DASYLab version 5.6 code, basically acquires combustion dynamics signals, performs the FFT analysis, and displays the results. The gas turbine often experiences momentary combustion instability, especially when its combustion mode changes. It is found that the measurement system developed in the study may outperform the other commercial dynamic pressure measurement system. The developed system currently serves to monitor the combustion dynamics of the gas turbine.

$Eu^{2+}$-doped $\beta$-SiAlONs ($Si_{6-z}Al_zO_zN_{8-z}:Eu_y$) are recognized as promising phosphor materials to build an white LED for lighting application due to its excellent absorption/emission efficiency in the long wave length region. In this research, the fabrication of $\beta$-SiAlON:Eu plate phosphor by sintering was investigated with fixed Eu content(y) and varied composition of the host lattice(z). The addition of the activator $Eu_2O_3$ lead to enhanced densification by forming the transient liquid phase. The refinement of a composition by the calculated lattice parameter indicated that the measured composition of the fabricated specimens is nearly same to that of designed one. The single phase $\beta$-SiAlON:Eu plate with relative density of 96.4% was achieved by addition of 2 wt% CaO, which implies the possibility of full densification by adjusting the processing variables.

The influence of internal stress and joint strength(shear, tensile) according to the deposition conditions was investigated by the Polyimide substrate and ZnO thin film. Deposition thickness and temperature affect the internal stress and the internal stress was minimum at the 60nm and 200℃ of the deposition conditions. Tensile strength is large at the deposition condition that shear strength is large and the shear strength was about 50% of the tensile strength. The shear strength and tensile strength were large at deposition condition that internal stress was small. Crack occurred near the joint interface of Polyimide substrate and progressed along the interface until the final fracture.

The size and distribution of residual stresses and the effect of the minimum mesh size were investigated by the a-Si thin film solar cell. Attributed to the difference in coefficient of thermal expansion of the a-Si and Ag concentrated residual stresses at the joint interface of dissimilar materials. The σy and τxy didn"t appear in the central part, but σx existed. However, σx, σy and τxy appeared in the edge part and concentrated residual stresses at the interface between a-Si and Ag. Minimum mesh size gets smaller, the concentration of σy was significantly and existence area was reduced. As a result, the failure of thin film solar cells during the cutting process can be explained by the residual stresses.
