In order to monitor the parasites, 83 fecal samples were taken from monkeys such as Cercopithecus mitis(6), Macaca fuscata(32), Saimiri sciurea(27), Macaca nigra(5), Papio hamadrysa(8), and Macaca mulatta(5) in Jeonbuk area. Isolation and Identification of the parasites from the feces were determined by the fecal examination using the floatation and microscopical examination, respectively. The detection rate was 21.6%, and mixed infection rate was single 18.0%(15 heads), double 2.4%(2 heads), and triple 1.2% (1 head). The isolates were identified as Strongyloides axei from 7 heads. Trichuris spp from 3 heads, Entamoeba histolytica 3 heads, Toxacaris leonina from 3 heads, and Eimeria spp from 2 heads.

A 7 month old male shepherd was presented with anorexia, diarrhea, and salivation, and euthanized due to no clinical improvement. Grossly, ulcers were seen on ventral surface of tongue and stomach. The mineralization was obvious in the intercostal space, lung and inner surface of aorta. Kidney was pale, firm and irregular. Histopathology confirmed uremic pneumonitis, end stage kidney and hyperplasia of parathyroid. This case was the typical uremic condition of juvenile dog, which was characterized the diffuse soft tissue mineralization due to hyperparathyroidism secondary to chronic renal failure.

Anaplasmosis is most important tick-borne rickettsial diseases of domestic ruminants, with Anaplasma spp. as their respective causal agents. In order to the survey prevalence of anaplasmosis in Korean native goats, we examined the Giemsa`s blood filrms from 552 grazing and 188 nongrazing-goats in Chonbuk area Namwon, Imsil and Sunchang. The conclusive diagnosis was made by observing the characteristic marginal or central bodies in the red blood cells. The infection rate of grazine and nongrazing-goats with Anaplasma spp. was 71.7% and 8.5%, respectively. In order to study about the therapeutic effects of drug for 40 grazing-oats infected with Anaplasma spp. in mountain-area, Berenil(R)(diminazene acetate) was intramuscularly injected (0.5mℓ/10kg B.W.). After 1 month, we don`t detected the parasite in the blood films from 33 goats(82.5%), but no change of significant hematological values(PCV, ESR, WBC, RBC, MCH, MCHC, PLT, MPV, PDW and HB) was observed. These results indicated that the infection rate of Anaplasma spp. was higher on grazing than nongrazing-goats and Berenil(R) as an antianaplasmal drug is recommended.

Fugi are eukaryotic, nonphotosynthetic, filamentous or unicellular organisms, most of which grow on nonliving materials as saphrophytes. The majority are therefore opportunistic pathogens and predisposing factors often contribute to the establishment of fungal infection. These include an alteration in the normal flora of the host by prolonged administration of antibiotics, immunosup-pression, concurrent infections, damage to the skin or mucous membranes, constantly moist areas of skin or the exposure to a large infective dose, and as with fungal spores. Fungi may cause a variety of diseases which may be due directly to fungal invasion of tissue or more often to the ingestion of toxins produces by fungi in growing, standing or stored grains and other animals feeds. In this experiment, contaminated fugi were isolated and identified from animal feedstuffs such as Korean cattle, milking cows, pigs and chickens. Twelve genues were isolated from animal feeds, they are 9 from Korean cattle and milking cows feeds, 6 from pigs feeds, and 10 from chickens feeds. Among them, most frequently encountered species was Yeast(56 strains), followed by Fusarium sp(41 strains), Aspergillus sp(20 strains), each of Microsporum sp and Trichophyton sp(17 strains), Penicillium sp(12 strains), in order. And also minority was isolated as Candida sp(4 strains), Trichoderma sp(3 strains), each of Epidermophytom sp and Absida sp(2 strains), and each of Sporothrix sp and Maduromyces sp(1 strain). Among the Aspergillus sp 20 isolates, A flavus(5 strains), A nidulans(4 strains), A fumigatus(3 strains), A glucans(3 strains), A niger(3 strains) and A terreus(2 strains) were identified.

This survey was performed to investigate avian salmonellosis from broiler farms in Namwon area for 4 years. The whole samples from farms were 541 and chicken samples were 294. Out of 294, 83 cases were identified with avian salmonellosis for 4 years by various serological and biochemical tests. There was no outbreak of pullorum disease, but fowl typhoid occurred in 36 farms. The outbreak of avian salmonellosis occurred continuously regardless of seasons throughout the year. Avian salmonellosis mostly happened within 10 days of age which were 52 cases(63%). The selection of susceptible antibiotics has changed from Quinoline group in 2000 to amoxacillin+clavulanic acid(AmC).

Zygomatic arch is a prominent structure among facial bone and this is the major cause of vulnerability from the facial trauma. The fracture of zygomatic arch has been treated by ancillary methods of closed reduction approaching through temporal incision or intraoral incision. But, these methods gas a limitation of reduction force vector and it has a difficulty in maintaining the secure fixation of the reduced unstable fractured bones. All 22 cases of zygomatic fracture were reduced by transcutaneous screw and fixed with external fixation device successfully. There was no post-operative complication, such as non union, malunion, and visible scar. This method also has advantages of less post-operative edema and pain.

Medial orbital wall fracture was described by Converse and Smith in the first time in 1957. These fractures which comprise more than 30% of all the orbital wall fracture are may easily be overlooked in routine orbital radiology. Accordingly, examination with orbital CT is essential for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. These type of fracture are followed frequently by post-oprative complication such as diplopia and enophthalmos because it is very difficult to approach to orbital medial was in these operations. The mechanism of the orbital wall fractures are abruptly increased hydraulic pressure by sudden impact on orbital rim or soft tissue of orbital region. So patients who show the signs of subcutaneous emphysema, edema on the orbital region or diplopia need to get through examination with orbital CT for accurate diagnosis and immediate reconstruction of the fractured orbital wall. Conventional approaches in the operations of the orbital medial wall fractures are that with bicoronal incision, subciliary incision, transconjunctival incision and infra-orbital rim incision. But, approach with bicoronary incision, needs broader dissection and longer time for operation. Operations with transconjunctival incision and that with subciliary incision have difficulty to approach to fractured sites. Operations with other conventional methods may be also followed by scar problem. The authors performed reduction and reconstruction of the fractured orbital medial wall fractures successfully without any complications and difficulties by intra-eyebrow approach with which they made incision of 2 - 2.5 ㎝ on mid-area of eyebrow to expose fractured medial wall with good operative field.
