This study aims at looking into the use of oriental medical services in treating disease and patient's attitude of oriental medicine by social classes. The first to be explored through this study is medical accessibility, classifying them by age, gender and job. Second is to examine kinds of oriental medical services and expenses incurred in treating the disease. Third is to compare satisfaction for the services offered and investigate into relations between disease and oriental medicine through cross-analysis by class, and provide fundamental materials for enhancing accessibility to oriental medical centers for treating chronic diseases. The 1,376 households for the period of time from Apr. to Jun. 2005, were asked to answer to the questionnaires offered. The conclusion from the survey can be summarized as follows. Medical services for the onset of disease were less offered to females, older group, low schooling, and low-income bracket. It is attributable to an economic cause, in both genders. The in- and outpatients' rate were found higher in groups of female, older age, low-income and blue-color workers. Use of oriental medical centers were higher in outpatients than inpatients probably for low-income brackets were less frequently put on regular physical checkups, more exposing to diseases. Each hospitalization was found over six days longer in average; 19.7 days for oriental medical hospitals, 12.5 for hospitals. The hospital charges that patients should pay for one hospitalization showed 909,000 won in oriental medical hospitals, much higher than 518,000 won in hospitals. Outpatients were also found to pay more for oriental medical services; 55,000 won for oriental medical hospitals, 19,000 for hospitals. As to outpatients' satisfaction, oriental medical hospitals were generally found to be a little more satisfactory than general hospitals; 11.2% of respondents answered Very Satisfactory. Satisfaction to services offered to outpatients showed 82.2% of respondents responded to Over Satisfactory for herb clinics, 76% for general hospitals. For future intention to use oriental medical services, females, over 51 years old, lower education and income, and blue color workers showed more intention to use them. To be more competitive in treating chronic diseases, it is necessary that oriental medical services become more accessible through extending its coverage of insurance into more medical herbs and their prepared packs, as well as mapping out extensive publicity strategies to make known to the public about high efficacy of medical herbs and their safety.

Tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima Swingle) as an invasive alien plant, appeared usually in the disturbed locations such as road-side, incised slope, and trampling path-side. They appeared abundantly in the trampling path-side but they did not appear or were rare in the interior of forest. Density and importance value of tree of heaven were proportionate to the relative light intensity measured according to distance from the trampling path toward forest interior and closely related to the breadth of trampling path as well. They were associated with annual, other exotic species or ruderal plants well. Distributional pattern of mature trees of them in the study area and its surrounding environments implied that they were introduced intentionally. Size class distribution of them showed that they are in expansion and artificial interferences such as, installing physical training space and developing hiking course functioned as trigger factors in their invasion and expansion. The results support the facts known generally in relation to invasion and expansion of the invasive alien plants. In this viewpoint, we suggest a management plan that applies ecological restoration principles to address ecosystems infected with tree of heaven by restoring the integral feature of the degraded nature and conserving the remained nature more thoroughly.

In order to predict the cutting forces in general micro-end-milling operated by NC code, a cutting process simulation model was conducted. This model computes the cutting configurations using a geometric simulation based on ME Z-map and predict the cutting force using a mechanistic cutting force model that can precisely predict the cutting force in micro-end-milling under various cutting conditions. In order to eliminate a serious difference between an actual machine tool behavior and an ideal behavior commanded by NC code, a feed drive simulation was introduced. The comparison of the predicted and measured cutting forces in micro-packet-milling showed that the proposed method provides very accurate results.

For the numerical simulation of tire rolling noise, an important subject is the extraction of normal velocity data of the tire surface that are essential for the acoustic analysis. In the current study, a concept of periodically exciting contact force is introduced to effectively extract the tire normal velocity data. The ground contact pressure within contact patch that is obtained by the static tire contact analysis is periodically applied to the whole tread surface of stationary tire. The periodically exciting contact forces are sequentially applied with a time delay corresponding to the tire rolling speed. The tire vibration is analyzed by the mode superposition in the frequency domain, and the acoustic analysis is performed by commercial BEM code. The proposed method is illustrated through the numerical experiment of 3-D smooth tire model and verified from the comparison with experiment, and furthermore the acoustical responses are investigated to the tire rolling speed.

Off-line feedrate scheduling is presented as the advanced technology to regulate cutting forces at the desired level through change of feedrates. In rough cutting, the feedrate scheduling aims at reducing the machining time, which is the most important factor for better productivity. Thus, the largest force which can avoid breakage of tool shank and tooth is a reference force for feedrate scheduling in rough cutting. In this paper, a calculation method of the reference cutting force for feedrate scheduling is developed. This model calculates rupture plane of tooth using the FEM analysis of a tool and computes the reference force using the transverse rupture strength of a tool. Experiments validate that the presented feedrate scheduling model reduced machining time drastically and regulate cutting forces at the reference cutting force.

The complex three-dimensional miniature components are needed for a wide range of applications from the aerospace to the biomedical industries. To manufacture these products, micro machining that can make a high aspect ratio part and has good accuracy is widely researched. In this paper, cutting characteristics were analyzed in micro machining using cutting force coefficients, which are the specific cutting force for normal and frictional direction of rake surface. From measured cutting force in micro end milling, cutting condition independent cutting force coefficients were determined and used for analysing the characteristics of micro cutting. Using the cutting force coefficient, 써써써

This paper presents an accurate cutting simulation and feedrate scheduling system for CNC machining. This system is composed of a cutting simulation part and a feedrate scheduling part. The cutting simulation part computes the geometric informations and calculates the cutting forces in CNC machining. The cutting force model using cutting-condition-independent coefficients was introduced for flat end milling and ball end milling. The feedrate scheduling part divides original blocks of NC code into smaller ones with optimized feedrates to adjust the peak value of cutting forces to reference forces. Some machining examples show that the developed system can control the cutting force at desired levels.
