지역 뮤지컬 콘텐츠 제작과 그 한계

이응규 ( Eunggyu Lee ) 세계음악학회 2023 음악과 문화 Vol.- No.48

The purpose of this study is to present various problems that arise in the production environment and production process of creative musicals in Daugu and to seek a better direction. I will explain the background of starting this study with the above purpose. Daegu is a city of creative musicals with more creative content than any other region except the metropolitan area. However, in the process of creating content in Daegu, it complains of great difficulties in production. Therefore, this study aims to present various production environments and problems for artists who make local musicals and connect them in a way to seek a better direction. I will continue with the introducing the method of this study that I conducted. Musicals recently produced in Daegu were selected as representative examples to examine the development process of content developed in the regions. After that, I first looked at the production process of various works that gained fame on Broadway and the West End, and then critically considered works produced in the regions of Korea. To this end, in Chapter 2, I checked the material limitations of locally produced musical contents, and then critically examined the lack of diversity in the subject. Based on this, in Chapter 3, I raised the importance of establishing a specific pre-production with the scalability of the work in mind from the selection of materials. Therefore, In Chapter 4, I presented the problems and measures necessary to operate the production based on the above pre-production. The analysis results of production problems in the environment of producing musical performances in the region can be summarized as follows; The first is lack of performing infrastructure. Secondly, lack of technical staff. Last but not least, spatial limitations for Long-Term performance. There are two points to be made at the end of the study. The first point is this study has limitations in that it failed to consider private creative musicals other than those made by national and public institutions and theaters or DIMF(Daegu International Musical Festival). On the other hand, it is meaningful in that it presented various production environments and problems based on personal production experience.
