The aim of this study is to analyze the physiological and sensory response based on brassiere types having two different design parameters, i.e., different length of wing and band width of the front panel. This study involved nine middle aged-women who participated in the wear test and data on their subjective pressure sensation, brain wave and skin temperature was collected using Neurodata Acquisition System Model 12 (Grass Co., USA) and MP100 Biopac System. The main physiological parameters that displayed significant differences based on the brassiere types included; slow alpha wave at O₂ and theta wave at O₁. When pressure was exerted around the breast area, there was an decrease in slow alpha while theta wave was increased at O₂ and O₁ respectively. The subjects were very sensitive to the difference in pressure between the experimental brassieres during the subjective evaluation. Lower chest tightness, overall tightness, and overall fit presented the most significant differences. The front panels’ long band enhanced the negative pressure sensation significantly at each level of the wing length. Consequently, it is suggested that the length of the wing should be longer when the band length at the front panel is wider, compared with the scenario where there is no extra band on the front panel.

This study investigated the effects of textile attachments on electroencephalogram using 20 persons (10 males and 10 females). Four types of attachment cushions were manufactured by changing the shell fabric (cotton and microfiber) and interlining (synthetic loose fiber and buckwheat). This was done using BIOS-S8 (BioBrain Inc., Korea), an 8-channel polygraph for multi-body signal measurement, to measure EEG. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 24.0 statistical program. EEG values were significantly activated according to gender, particularly when the subjects' eyes were open. For the male cases, ‘RT’, ‘RAHB’ values were highly activated and for the female cases, ‘RA’, ‘RB’, ‘RG’, ‘RFA’, ‘RST’, ‘RLB’, ‘RMB’, ‘RST’, ‘RMT’ values were highly activated. Examining the differences in EEG according to type of attachment indicated no significant difference in both sexes. However, in cases of females with their eyes closed, the ‘RSA’ index was quite different in the left occipital lobe (O1), and when their eyes were open, the ‘RFA’ in the right frontal lobe (F4) showed a significant difference. However, there was no obvious correlation between the activation of EEG and the subjective preference of textile attachments.

The purpose of this study is to identify the attachment types of college students. and to investigate the perception of attachment and the general reality of attachments. Subsequently, the aim is to provide basic data of design elements necessary for developing attachment products that can help restore emotional stability and reshape stable attachment. The survey was conducted by involving 100 college students. The questionnaire items consisted of 36 questions for classifying the attachment types and 17 questions for the overall reality of attachment. As a result of the study, for the attachment type, the unstable type was found to be 74%, and 71% of the respondents stated the presence of an object with which they feel attached. In the case of attachments, the period of possession was the highest in 1-5 years, and the percentage of possession for the future was the highest in 1-5 years. Among the attachments, they preferred bedding, followed by pillows, cushions, and blankets. When choosing an attachment product, the most important sense was touch, and the sight was evaluated as a very important sense. As for the color, men preferred grey and women preferred ivory.

The lengthwise and widthwise deformation of warp-knitted fabrics with different sizes and loading modes were evaluated. Moreover, five tricot samples cut in three directions were compared under four test conditions (A-D). In tests A and B, 500 and 250 g loads were applied on a layer of 20 × 20 and 5 × 10㎠ samples, respectively. In test C, a 20 × 20㎠ sample was folded in half over a rod, and 500 g load was applied to each half. In test D, a 20 × 20㎠ sample was sewn in a loop and subjected to a 500 g load. The lengthwise extension and widthwise contraction analysis results indicate that test B affords the largest values. However, analysis results of the warp-knitted fabric normalized through conversion to a 1 g load and 1 cm sample width indicate that the largest values are afforded for test D. Therefore, pattern reduction may vary depending on the measurement method and properties of the knitted fabric used for the compression wear production, causing variations in the finished product. Thus, an appropriate measurement method must be adopted based on the compression wear design and knitted fabric to be used.
