어머니 리더십에 따른 군집과 유아의 리더십 특성과의 관계: 유아의 연령별 리더십을 중심으로

본 연구는 어머니의 리더십 성향에 따른 하위유형을 확인하고, 유형간 유아의 리더십의 차이를 비교함으로써 어머니의 리더십 성향에 따른 유아 리더십의 개인차를 이해하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울과 경기도 6개 유아교육기관의 만 4세와 만 5세 유아의 어머니 300명에서 설문하여 이상치나 설문항목이 누락된 설문을 제외한 274부를 분석하였으며 어머니의 리더십, 유아의 리더십을 측정하는 설문을 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 어머니의 리더십 유형을 알아보기 위한 군집분석 결과, 높은 리더십 집단과 낮은 어머니 리더십 집단으로 구분되었으며 어머니의 리더십 군집별 유아의 리더십에는 민주형, 선도형, 지시형 리더십에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 연령별로 살펴보면 만 4세에서는 코칭형, 관계중심형, 민주형, 선도형리더십이 차이를 보였으며 만5세에서는 선도형 리더십에서 유의미한 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 각 군집의 특성에 대한 해석과 함께 본 연구의 시사점에 대해 논의하고자 하였다. The goal of this study was to understand individual differences in child leadership in relation to their mother’s leadership characteristics. We compared types of children’s leadership and confirmed the subtypes according to the mother’s leadership characteristics. Participants were 300 mothers with children between 4 and 5 years old from 6 different educational institutes for children in Seoul and Gyeonggi province, South Korea. Two-hundred seventy-four surveys, excluding those with omitted or odd answers, were analyzed and data on mother and child leadership were collected. A cluster analysis conducted to define mothers’ leadership types categorized them into a high-leadership group or a low-leadership group. Children’s leadership, according to mother’s leadership clusters, showed a significant difference among democratic, guidance, and commanding leadership groups. Regarding the age groups, the 4-year-old-group showed coaching, affiliative, democratic, and commanding leadership style differences; and the 5-year-old-group differed significantly in only the commanding leadership style. Based on these results, we discuss implications of the study and each cluster’s characteristics.
