Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation of shoulder pain and meridian muscle electrography in hemiplegic patients after stroke. Methods : Twenty patients with hemiplegic shoulder pain participated in this study. Physical examination, pain survey and meridian muscle electrography were performed. Each variable was compared with each other by correlation analysis. Results : Correlation between visual analogue scale and meridian muscle electrography statistically significant in contraction power ratio of deltoid muscle medial portion and trapezius muscle upper portion, others were not significant. Conclusions : In hemiplegic shoulder pain patients, the more patients complain about pain, the more tone of affected muscle is similar unaffected muscle. This suggests that pain influences on muscle tone. Although meridian muscle electrography is not typical method for the evaluation of painful hemiplegic shoulder, this is referential method to clinical evaluation.

한국 성인 남성의 요통환자군과 건강검진군의 양도락 검사결과에 대한 비교연구

Objectives :The aim of this study was to investigate the different of yangdorak diagnosis between low back pain patients and medical checkup group. Methods :We analyzed the measurement value of yangdorak on 103 patients with low back pain and 103 medical checkup persons in Korean males from March 1st, 2007 to September 30th, 2008 by using yangdorak(MEDIRA, Neomyth Co., Korea). Results :1. In comparing results on the yangdorak general mean, low back pain group is statistically significant in comparison with medical checkup group(p<0.001). 2. In comparing results on each meridian yangdorak value, they were statistically significant between two groups(p<0.001). 3. In comparing result on the distance of yangdorak value from the mean, they were statistically significant between two groups at the Bladder- meridian(p<0.05), but not at the Kidney-meridian. Conclusions :This results suggest that yangdorak may be used for a method to objective clinical examination. But further studies are required for a use of practical indicator.

견부견인 추나가 중풍 편마비 환자의 견관절 통증 및 관절가동범위에 미치는 영향

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of the Chuna therapy on shoulder for patients with chronic stroke. Methods : The Chuna therapy on shoulder was applied to 26 hemiplegic patients who had been treated by general rehabilitation therapy after stroke for 2 weeks. The other 24 hemiplegic patients had only general rehabilitation therapy during the same period. Outcomes were assessed by visual analogue scale, medical research council scale, passive range of movement, meridian-electromyograph, and subluxation grade. Results : The patients exhibited significant improvements on the visual analogue scale and passive range of movement but did not show significant results in medical research council scale, meridian-electromyograph and subluxation grade meaningful differences between sample and control group. Conclusions : The Chuna therapy on shoulder may be an efficacious method of improving passive range of movement and pain of the affected shoulder of patients after stroke.

한국 남자 성인의 스트레스와 승모근·흉쇄유돌근 경근전도의 상관성 분석

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation of stress and meridian muscle electrography in Korean adult males. Methods : Sixty-nine volunteers suffering from stress participated in this study. Physical examination, stress survey and meridian muscle electrography were performed. Each variable was compared with each other by correlation analysis. Results : Correlation between stress response inventory and fatigue of trapezius muscle right upper portion was statistically significant. In relationship between sub scales of stress response inventory and meridian muscle electrography, fatigue of trapezius muscle right upper portion was statistically significant with tension, depression, and frustration. Contraction power of left sternocleidomastoid muscle was significant with somatization and others were not significant. Conclusions : In Korean adult males, trapezius muscle shows more fatigue under more stress. This suggests that stress influences muscle fatigue. Although meridian muscle electrography is not a typical method for the evaluation of pain nor stress, this is referential method to clinical evaluation of painful shoulder caused stress.
