The purpose of this paper is to find out the characteristics in the development of Dewey's inquiry In Dewey, the theory of inquiry is related with making of Knowledge. This Knowledge is made in the process of experience. It's meanings are: (1) to be acquired, (2) to be instrumental, (3) to be actual, and (4) to be valuable. To make such a Knowledge, inquiry must be free from the unobservable, the transcendental, and the intuitional. It lies in all the phases and all the fields of life. Finally, from this particular task to the scientific and rational theory it continues and develops in process. In this sense, Dewey's theory of inquiry can be interpreted as follow. 1) The inquiry creates the logic in itself and by its logic is established. That is, the formulation of conditions of inquiry activity is recognized as the logical forms. They play the part of controlling and directing the inquiry. 2) The inquiry in process involves the leaps and skips. That which is not present is suggested on the base of the Known. 3) The inquiry has operational character. It serves the task of choosing and manipulating the object. 4) The inquiry controls the process of learning. It generalizes the results of learning. The situation must be dealt with to understand Dewey's theory of inquiry, for which the transformation of indeterminate situation into determinate one is refered. In other words, situation is the scene of the inqury in process. The functions of situation in the process of inquiry are ① keeping consistence of inquiry activity, ② suggesting the conditions of the leaps and skips, and ③ preparing the requirement of the preposition. Therefore inquiry is significant only into the situation continuum.

The relation between engine performance and intake and exhaust pressures was lineay Experimental resalts show similar relationship between engine performance and pressures to those oftained theoretically.

Plasma sprayed coating has to be regarded as one of the most universal coating techniques. Dif-ferent plasma spraying process alow to work with all kind of materials, from low melting plastics to high melting compounds. This paper has described experimentals of a plasma sprayed coating of AL₂O₃for S25C steel bar, the basic experimentals were carried out during torch thermal efficiency and tensile adhesion test of plasma coating.

The individuality, as Dewey says, is something to be wrought out. For this, he must interact with social setting constantly. The interaction between individuality and social setting is referred to as the way of realizationof common aim. Dewey underlines his development of educationthrough it. In this presentations of education are: 1) that the integration between the goodness of individuality and social goodness must be achieved in education. 2) that the unknown, the prospect, must be searched on the known, the present. 3) that creativity must be cultivated. For this education Dewey insists on 1) the education emphasizing life, 2) the education emphasizing social reconstruction, and 3) the principle of learning by doing. The education emphasizing life is to be of importance in process. First, this education emphasizes child's activities. Second, subject matter is those to encourage the activities. Third, the individuality is centered in process of learning. The last is the teacher's task that modifies the child's activities into intellectual assets. The education emphasizing social reconstruction is thatthe representatives of social life are introduced to educational program and that man's freedom is protected in process of education. The principle of learning by doing is toacquire the result of learning in operation. Therefore, those to be problematic are to be supplied for children. Then, the purpose and evaluation in activities are essential in education.
