Pt nanoparticles highly dispersed on Vulcan X-72 with various sizes were synthesized by borohydride reduction method. TEM and XRD analysis were performed to confirm the real particle size. The methanol oxidation and oxygen reduction activity were observed with the change of particle size. The oxygen reduction activity in existing of methanol to apply to the cathode of DMFC, which experiences the competition between methanol oxidation and oxygen reduction, also was observed. The cubo-octahedral model was used to observe the comparison between the theory and experiment at result.

The component and pharmacologic action on Dianthus sinensis L. were investigated as follows: 1) The components of Dianthus sinensis L. were suggested 8 kind of components by means of thin layer chromatography and paper chromatography. The one of them were suggested as a steroidal saponin by means of IR-spectrum and Liebermann-Burchard, Salkowiski, $SbCl_3$ reaction. 2) Sodium level in serum were reduced by administration of the sample to the rabbits, while in urine were elevated. 3) Blood sugar level of normal rabbits administered with sample, no significant variation were detected. 4) When the hyperglycemic rabbits treated with alloxan were administered sample, blood-sugar level were significantly decreased than control group.

The effect of the Ginkgoic acid on the amounts of total cholesterol and triglycerides in serum from rabbit was observed. Ginkgoic acid was obtained from Ginkgo biloba L. fruits, and it was subcutaneously administered to the three days fasted rabbits. After three days starvation, the amounts of total cholesteral and triglycerides in serum of the rabbit were markedly increased. The increased amounts of total cholesteral and triglycerides were gradually decreased by administration of Ginkgoic acid, and were returned to the control levels after 4 days. According to the above results, it would be concluded that Ginkgoic acid influences for the recovery of the increased amounts of total cholesterol and triglycerides by abnormal metabolism to normal on rabbit.
羚洋角 Capricornidis Cornu 製劑가 家兎血淸中 脂質含量變化에 미치는 影響에 關한 硏究

The effect of crude drug preparation containing Capricornidis Cornu (C.C.) on the amount of total cholesterol, triglycerides, and phospholipid in serum from rabbit were observed. The preparations were extracted by methanol, and extracted samples were orally administrated to the rabbits fasted for three days. After three days starvation, the amounts of total cholesterol and triglycerides in serum of the rabbit were markedly increased, while phospholipid was slightly decreased. The increased amounts of total cholesterol and triglyceride were gradually decreased by administration of the extracted samples, and were returned to the control levels after 15 days. However, the amount of phospholipid was increased to higher than the control levels by administration of the drugs. The crude drug preparations containing C.C. produced the most significant results, in comparison with the experimental groups treated by C.C. alone, or crude drugs without C.C.

The effects of omission of buffers from Krebs-Ringer medium on contractile activity, membrane potentials and ATP content of electrically stimulated isolated rat atria were investigated. 1) Contractile status: A rapid and marked depression of the contractile activity of atria occurred when buffer-free medium was substituted for the normal Krebs-Ringer medium. 2) Electrical status: The omission of buffers from medium did not alter the resting or action potential magnitudes of atria. However, the action potential duration was on initial increase followed by a decrease in the buffer-free medium. 3) ATP concentration: The omission of buffers from medium resulted in a marked decrease in the ATP levels of atria. It has been also found in the present study that bicarbonate buffer plays an important role for the maintenance of the contractility and ATP levels of the heart. The contractile depression by the omission of buffers was not directly associated with electrical alterations in resting or action potentials of the heart. In the absence of bicarbonate-buffer, glucose no longer plays to maintain the contractile activity and the ATP levels of rat atria.
분위기 가스에 따른 ITO 박막의 전기적 및 구조적 특성

ITO (Indium Tin Oxide) thin films have been extensively studied for OLED devices because they have high transparent properties in the visible wavelength and a low electrical resistivity. These ITO films are deposited by rf-magnetron sputtering under different ambient gases (Ar, Ar+$O_2$ and Ar+$H_2$) at $300^{\circ}C$. In order to investigate the influences of the oxygen and hydrogen, the flow rate of oxygen and hydrogen in argon has been changed from 0.5sccm to 5sccm and from 0.01sccm to 0.25sccm respectively. The resistivity of ITO film increased with increasing flow rate of $O_2$ under Ar+$O_2$ while it is nearly constant under Ar+$H_2$. And the peak of ITO films obtained (222) and (400) orientations and the average transmittance was over 80% in the visible range. The OLED device fabricated with different ITO substrates made by configuration of ITO/$\alpha$-NPD/Alq3/LiF/Al to elucidate the performance of ITO substrate for OLED device.
