RF-MW 혼합프로세스를 사용하여 다이아몬드 막을 만들 때, 우선 RF 플라즈마CVD법으로 실리콘 기판 위에 다이아몬드 시드를 증착시키고, 그 시드로부터 MW 플라즈마CVD법에 의해 다이아몬드 막을 성장시켰다. RF-MW 혼합프로세스를 사용하여 성장된 다이아몬드 막은 MW 프로세스만으로 성장된 막에 비해 결정입계의 크기는 작고, 조밀해졌으며, 결정성 또한 더 좋아졌다. 성장된 다이아몬드 막은 전자현미경, X-선 회절기, Raman분광기 등으로 분석하였다. In case of making the diamond films by using RF-MW mix-process, at first. diamond seeds were deposited on silicon substrate by RF plasma CVD, and then diamond layer grown by MW plasma CVD from the seeds. The grain-size of diamond films deposited by using RF-MW mix-process was smaller and denser, in addition, crystallity of diamond films was better than MW plasma CVD process. The deposited diamond films were analyzed by SEM, XRD, and Raman spectroscopy.

<B>ABSTRACT</B><P>Intraembryonic hematopoiesis occurs at two different sites, the floor of the aorta and subaortic patches (SAPs) of the para-aortic splanchnopleura (P-Sp)/aorta-gonad-mesonephros (AGM) region. Notch1 and RBP-jκ are critical for the specification of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in Notch signal-receiving cells. However, the mechanism by which Notch signaling is triggered from the Notch signal-sending cells to support embryonic hematopoiesis remains to be determined. We previously reported that Mind bomb-1 (Mib1) regulates Notch ligands in the Notch signal-sending cells (B. K. Koo, M. J. Yoon, K. J. Yoon, S. K. Im, Y. Y. Kim, C. H. Kim, P. G. Suh, Y. N. Jan, and Y. Y. Kong, PLoS ONE 2:e1221, 2007). Here, we show that intraembryonic hematopoietic progenitors were absent in the P-Sp of <I>Mib1</I><SUP>−/−</SUP> embryos, whereas they were partly preserved in the <I>Tie2-cre</I>; <I>Mib1</I><SUP><I>f</I></SUP><SUP>/<I>f</I></SUP> P-Sps, suggesting that Mib1 plays a role in the endothelium and the SAPs. Interestingly, <I>dll1</I> and <I>dll4</I>/<I>Jag1</I> are expressed in the SAPs and the endothelium of the AGM, respectively, where <I>mib1</I> is detected. Indeed, Notch signaling was activated in the nascent HSCs at both sites. In the P-Sp explant culture, the overexpression of Dll1 in OP9 stromal cells rescued the failed production of hematopoietic progenitors in the <I>Mib1</I><SUP>−/−</SUP> P-Sp, while its activity was abolished by Mib1 knockdown. These results suggest that Mib1 is important for intraembryonic hematopoiesis not only in the aortic endothelium but also in the SAPs.</P>

본 연구에서는 천문동 건근의 부위에 따른 항산화 활성을 비교하여 이와 관련된 물질을 탐색하고 동정하였다. 천문동 건근에서 항산화 활성이 높은 부위는 껍질에 해당하고 DPPH radical 소거능, nitrite 소거능, hydroxy radical 소거능 및 ABTS 양이온 소거능과 같은 항산화 활성이 껍질 부위에서 상대적으로 높은 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이러한 결과는 껍질에 존재하는 폴리페놀 화합물에 의한 것으로 판단되었다. 껍질에 존재하는 항산화 활성 물질을 HPLC를 이용하여 분리하고 동정한 결과 리그닌의 생합성에 중요한 전구물질인 caffeic acid가 주요 항산화 활성 물질이었으며, 이러한 결과를 토대로 천문동이 지닌 효능을 최대로 사용하기 위해서는 천문동의 건조 후에 껍질을 제거하지 않고 사용하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 생각한다. This study was performed to compare the antioxidative activities of methanol extracts from Asparagus cochinchinensis with whole root (W-AC), flesh (F-AC), and root bark (B-AC). To evaluate the antioxidative properties of their methanol extracts, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical, nitrite, hydroxyl radical, 2,2"-azino-bis(3-ethylbenz thiazoline-6-sulfonate) radical scavenging activities, and contents of total flavonoid and polyphenol contents were measured. B-AC extract showed the highest antioxidative activity, whereas F-AC extract showed the lowest. For B-AC extract, caffeic acid was isolated by preparative high-performance liquid chromatography and confirmed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and absorption spectroscopy, which showed 1.6% of total polyphenol contents among all methanol extracts.

Gastric mucosal calcinosis (GMC) is a rarely encountered disease characterized by calcific deposition in the gastric mucosa which was known to be associated with organ transplantation, end-stage renal disease, hypercalcemia, hyperphosphatemia, gastric neoplasia, medications such as antacids containing aluminum, sucralfate and bismuth, and so on. We describe incidentally found 23 cases of GMC. Methods: We identified 23 cases of GMC from July 2004 to June 2011 from pathology department records. All available inpatient and outpatient medical records including laboratory data were reviewed. Results: 23 cases (9 male and 14 femal: median age of 65.2, range 34-85) were found incidentally by upper gastrointestinal endoscopic biopsy. The microscopic examination showed multifocal basophilic calcific material just beneath the surface epithelium. 14 patients (60.9%) were taking tripotassium dicitrato bismuthate in variable duration from one week to four years, 5 patients (21.7%) were taking aluminum containing antacid and 2 patient (8.7%) were taking both of them. 1 patient (4.3%) showed hypercalcemia with increased parathyroid hormone. The patients had no history of renal insufficiency, organ transplantation or gastric malignancy and had variable symptoms according to other comorbid gastrointestinal diseases, in example, gastritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and functional dyspepsia. The endoscopic findings were hyperemia, edema, chalky or salty-white plaque in common and other frequently accompanying feature was spontaneous bleeding. However, endoscopic finding of 2 pateints (8.7%) showed gastric polyp which confirmed GMC pathologically. There was no difference of endoscopic findings between different etiologies. Follow up endoscopy which was available in 8 patients (34.8%) from two months to two years after stopping offending medication showed disappearance of previous noted GMC. Conclusion: Gastric mucosal calcinosis can develop in normal tissue because of altered serum or mucosal biochemical environment associated with therapeutic measures and can be reversed after abstinence of the offending medication.
Development of thin film getters for field emission display

For a high efficient field emission display (FED), the specific vacuum conditions below 10-7 Torr should be required. However, because the FED has the geometrical restriction due to its micro size, the thin film getters can be proposed for chemical pumping as a way to reduce impurity gases in the panel. The thin film getters, developed by employing the coating of new materials such as NI or Pt on getter surface, can be used without any activation process and show the enhanced sorption characteristics. Especially, using the Zr (1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) thin film getters with the Pt surface layer, the significant gettering for various active gases could be achieved from 9$\times$10-5 Torr to 1$\times$10-6 Torr or below. this good sorption properties is mainly contributed to the surface coating layer which shows the catalytic effect for gas dissociation and protects the getter materials against oxidation.

<P>Sensors with autonomous self-healing properties offer enhanced durability, reliability, and stability. Although numerous self-healing polymers have been attempted, achieving sensors with fast and reversible recovery under ambient conditions with high mechanical toughness remains challenging. Here, a highly sensitive wearable sensor made of a robust bio-based supramolecular polymer that is capable of self-healing via hydrogen bonding is presented. The integration of carbon fiber thread into a self-healing polymer matrix provides a new toolset that can easily be knitted into textile items to fabricate wearable sensors that show impressive self-healing efficiency (>97.0%) after 30 s at room temperature for K<SUP>+</SUP>/Na<SUP>+</SUP> sensing. The wearable sweat-sensor system-coupled with a wireless electronic circuit board capable of transferring data to a smart phone-successfully monitors electrolyte ions in human perspiration noninvasively in real time, even in the healed state during indoor exercise. Our smart sensors represent an important advance toward futuristic personalized healthcare applications.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
