GG-25 : Validity and reliability of Korean version of female sexual function index (FSFI-6)

This study is to verify the validity and the reliability of Korean version of FSFI-6 (FSFI-6K) which is the short version of FSFI-19. This study has been approved by NCC IRB (NCCNCS-12-685). This study had been performed at outpatient department of National Cancer Center, from February 2013 to July 2013. Inclusion criteria were women 1) who are not diagnosed as cancer, 2) are above 18 years old, 3) are able to speak and understand Korean, and 4) have sexual activity within 3 months. Of 267 women who were asked to be responded whether they have sexual activity within 3 months, 47 women are disqualified. Total 220 female out-patients have participated in this study. The first primary survey was conducted and then retest was conducted 3 weeks (± 1 week) after primary survey. Of 220 women, 199 women (90.45%) responded for the retest, 18 women (8.18%) had no contact and 3 women (1.36%) refused to respond. FSFI-6 is a tool invented by Isidori et al. (2010) for measuring female sexual function and it consists of 6 domains; desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction and pain. A statistics was analyzed through collecting information of 220 women (82.40%) who completed the primary survey. The result of reliability The Cronbach`s alpha which is for measuring internal consistency of each domain is 0.888 and its reliability of test-retest is 0.606. The LoevH which is for measuring homogeneity of domain is 0.652. The result of validity The translated survey questions are conducted to 30 participants as a pilot test. As there are no cases of misunderstanding of questions, translated 6 survey domains were used as it is. It appears that all of 6 domains have correlation as its correlation coefficient is 0.432-0.722 (p<.001). Korean version of FSFI-6 which has more concised questions and simpler methods of calculating points has been developed and validated. Therefore it could be used in evaluating sexuality on clinical and research field in Korean women.
