이경섭,장한별,정은지,도아름,하진욱 순천향대학교 부설 산업기술연구소 2021 순천향 산업기술연구소논문집 Vol.27 No.2
In 2019, the daily generation of food waste in Korea was 14,314 tons, which is a steady increase compared to the past. To efficiently use food waste as an effective resource, composting and feeding are carried out. In Korea, attention is gradually focused on a sustainable resource circulation society. Compost made of food waste has problems with foreign substances, heavy metals, and salt content, and solid fuelization research is being actively conducted to compensate for this. In this study, infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), organic content measurement(TGA), and chemical composition were measured to compare the fuel characteristics with wood pellets, which are major solid fuels, in order to examine the physical and chemical properties of food waste compost.
Neurite Guidance on Laser-Scribed Reduced Graphene Oxide
Lee, Sang Hwa,Lee, Han Byeol,Kim, Yoonyoung,Jeong, Jae Ryeol,Lee, Min Hyung,Kang, Kyungtae American Chemical Society 2018 NANO LETTERS Vol.18 No.12

This paper describes a one-step, chemical-free method to generate micropatterned in vitro neuronal networks on chemically unmodified reduced graphene oxide. The suggested method relies on infrared-based photothermal reduction of graphene oxide, which concurrently leads to the formation of submicrometer-scale surface roughness that promotes neuronal adhesion and guides neurite outgrowth. A commercially available laser source (LightScribe DVD drive) controlled by a computer software can be used to reduce graphene oxide (GO), and its repetitive scribing to a GO film brings about gradual increase and decrease in electrical conductivity and neurite guiding ability of the scribed regions, respectively. Our results also indicate that the observed adhesion-promoting and neurite guiding effect originate from the contrast in surface nanotopography, but not that in conductivity. This method is readily applicable to diverse graphene-based biomedical devices.
[FIG OMISSION]

Correlation between severity of atopic dermatitis and sleep quality in children and adults
( Byeol Han ),( Tae Seok Kong ),( Young Chae Lee ),( Tae Young Han ),( June Hyunkyung Lee ),( Sook Ja Son ) 대한피부과학회 2015 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.67 No.2
Background: The symptoms of atopic dermatitis(AD) can limit a patient’s physical and psychosocial development as well as lower their overall quality of life(QOL), includingsleep quality. Objectives: To evaluate the relationships between clinical disease severity, QOL and sleep quality in children and adults with AD. Methods: 50 adult AD patients and 50 child AD patients were included. The SCORAD was examined to evaluate the severity of AD. Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ) and the Children’s Dermatology Life Quality Index(CDLQI) were used to evaluate QOL and sleep disturbance in children. Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI) wereused in adults. Results: The SCORAD and CSHQ score, the SCORAD and CDLQI score and the CSHQ and CDLQI score demonstrated significant correlations. The SCORAD and PSQI score showed no significant correlation. However, there were significant correlations between the SCORAD and DLQI score and the PSQI and DLQI score. Conclusion: Increasing severity of AD affects sleep quality in children. In adults, even though the total score of thesleep questionnaire is not associated, two components of them are associated with the severity of AD. There is a significant correlation between sleep quality and QOL in both children and adults. Therefore, we suggest that evaluating the sleep quality as well as clinical severity of the disease is necessary.
A case of Bier`s spots in a young male
( Byeol Han ),( Sook Ja Son ),( June Hyunkyung Lee ),( Tae Young Han ) 대한피부과학회 2016 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.68 No.1
Bier``s spots are distinct patterns of vascular mottling consists of small, irregular red or white macules standing on a cyanotic background. They usually occur on the arms and legs of young adults and the macules disappear by blanching the surrounding skin or raising the affected limbs. They are considered as an exaggerated physiological vasoconstrictive response of the small vessels, induced by hypoxia and associated with venous stasis or venous hypertension. A 21-year-old male presented with 3-month history of asymptomatic multiple 1-5mm sized whitish macules on his upper and lower limbs. Clinical examinations revealed that the spots were associated with dependency of the limbs and almost disappeared completely with elevation of the limbs. Pressure on the lesions from a glass slide made the lesions unapparent and rubbing induced erythematous reaction, making the lesions unapparent. Wood’s lamp examination of the lesions was negative and histopathologic findings of the biopsy specimen were normal. A diagnosis of Bier spots was made on the basis of the clinical features. Here in, we report an idiopathic case of Bier’s spots in a young male. Bier’s spots should be differentiated with other hypopigmentation disorders and vascular abnormalities. Furthermore, it is important to be suspicious of systemic disease in patients with Bier spots, because the spots sometimes seem to be the first sign of such disease.
A case of Kimura`s disease on the preauricular area
( Byeol Han ),( Tae Young Han ),( June Hyunkyung Lee ),( Sook Ja Son ) 대한피부과학회 2016 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.68 No.1
Kimura’s disease is a rare chronic inflammatory disorder common in the head and neck. Patients usually present with painless slowly enlarging subcutaneous masses with lymphadenopathy. Peripheral blood eosinophilia and elevated serum immunoglobulin(Ig)E levels are also common. Histopathologically, this tumor is composed of vascular proliferation and lymphoid infiltrate rich in eosinophils. Treatment includes surgical resection and regional or systemic steroid therapy. Cytotoxic therapy and radiation have also been utilized. However, antibiotic therapy has not been reported. The disease has an excellent prognosis, although it may recur locally. A 53-year-old man presented with 6-month history of asymptomatic slow growing multiple variable sized, skin colored subcutaneous nodules. The laboratory examination showed peripheral eosinophilia (30%) and increased serum IgE level. Multiple anechoic cystic lesions with posterior acoustic shadowing were seen on ultrasonography. Histopathologic examinations showed extensive infiltration of lymphocytes and proliferation of irregularly shaped blood vessels embedded in a dense infiltration composed of small lymphocytes, plasma cells, histiocytes, and eosinophils in the subcutaneous layer. After treatment with oral cephalosporine (750mg/day) for 4 weeks, skin lesions were resolved. Herein, we report a case of Kimura’s disease on the right preauricular area which is treated with cephalosporine.
[P360] A case of skin metastasis presenting as zosteriform lesions in ovarian cancer patient
( Byeol Han ),( Sook-ja Son ),( June Hyunkyung Lee ),( Tae Young Han ) 대한피부과학회 2017 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.69 No.1
Distant metastasis from ovarian cancer is unusual and cutaneous metastasis is exceedingly rare. Ovarian epithelial adenocarcinoma rarely metastasizes to the skin, and can be seen in less than 4% of patients. A 65-year-old woman presented with erythematous subcutaneous nodular lesions on the left neck and erythematous papules and patches on the left chest wall. She was diagnosed as ovarian cancer 4 years ago. Skin lesions on the chest wall were mimicking herpes zoster, as they presented along the thoracic dermatome. Punch biopsies from the skin lesions on the neck and trunk were done. Histopathologic findings showed poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma present in the dermis and subcutis. Immunohistochemical stains revealed that the tumor is positive for CK7 and negative for CK20, which is consistent with metastatic adenocarcinoma of ovary. She has been treated with palliative chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Herein, we report a rare case of skin metastasis in ovarian cancer patient presenting as zosteriform lesions.
A case of nevoid hyperkeratosis of the nipple and areola in a man without estrogen therapy
( Byeol Han ),( June Hyunkyung Lee ),( Tai Kyung Noh ),( Tae Young Han ) 대한피부과학회 2018 대한피부과학회 학술발표대회집 Vol.70 No.1
Nevoid hyperkeratosis of the nipple and areola(NHNA) is a rare, benign skin disease characterized by verrucous thickening and hyperpigmentation of the nipple and/or areola. Although the etiology of NHNA has been poorly understood, the association with a change in estrogen level has been suggested. It mainly occurs in the sencond or third decades of age in women, and can worsen during pregnancy. NHNA is rarely seen in men, and most reported cases had a medical history of estrogen therapy. A 25-year-old man presented with a 3-year history of asymptomatic brownish verrucous papules and plaques on the both nipples and areolae. He had no underlying malignancy, endocrinopathy, or history of using any estrogen-containing medication. Histopathologic examination showed orthokeratotic hyperkeratosis, filiform acanthosis, and papillomatosis. It was consistent with NHNA. The lesion was successfully removed with the carbon dioxide laser with a good cosmetic outcome. Herein, we report a very rare case of NHNA occurring in a man without underlying systemic disease with change in estrogen level or external estrogen therapy.
