중앙대학교 예술대학원 석사학위논문에 관한 메타분석 : 1999년-2010년 연극·영화 분야를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문의 목적은 중앙대학교 예술대학원 공연영상학과 연극과 영화 분야 석사학위 논문의 경향을 분석하는 것이다. 본 논문의 메타분석에는 처음 석사학위가 발표된 1999년부터 2010년 봄 학기까지 나온 연극과 영화 전공분야의 72편의 논문이 연구대상이 되었다. 중앙대학교 예술대학원 공연영상학과가 석사학위를 배출한지 11년이 되었고, 배출한 학위논문 수가 총 830편이 되었지만, 어떠한 학문적 발자취를 갖고 있고 있는지에 관한 연구가 없었다. 그래서 이번 기회에 본 연구자는 그동안의 학문적 역사를 돌아보고, 현재와 미래를 위한 도약의 의미에서 연구자의 전공분야인 연극·영화 분야 논문 72편을 메타분석하게 되었다.
중앙대학교 예술대학원 공연영상학과 연극·영화 분야에서 11년 동안 배출된 석사논문 72편중 연극전공 논문이 38편이고, 영화전공 논문이 34편으로 비교적 비슷한 수치를 보이고 있으며, 논문 주제 면에서는 72편이 모두 다 색다른 주제를 다루고 있을 정도로 다양성을 나타내고 있다. 그런 면에서 중앙대학교 예술대학원 공연영상학과 연극·영화 분야 논문은 우리나라 연극·영화 분야의 학문적 보고(寶庫)라 칭할 수 있다.
전공별로 논문주제를 살펴보자. 38편의 연극 전공자들의 논문주제를 보면, 영화전공자들보다 주제면으로 훨씬 더 다양성을 보여주고 있다. 너무 다양하여 영화처럼 몇 가지로 범주화하기 어려울 정도이다. 특징적인 주제를 나열하면 다음과 같다: 연극 작업일지, 전통탈, 판소리, 얼굴분장, 성우, 뮤지컬, 패션쇼, 마술, 조명, 가극, 연기훈련 등이다. 영화는 34편으로, 주제를 세분화해보면 크게 세 가지로 나눌 수 있다: 영화제작, TV드라마 제작, 영화 비평 및 분석. 연구방법 측면에서 보면, 문헌연구(47.2%)와 사례연구(44.4%)가 매우 높은 비율을 차지하고, 그 외의 비교연구(6.9%)와 실험연구(2.7%)는 가장 적게 활용된 연구형태이다.
본 연구는 중앙대학교 예술대학원 연극·영화 분야의 최초의 메타분석적 연구논문이며, 지금까지 졸업생들이 발표한 모든 논문의 흐름을 한 눈에 살펴 볼 수 있는 객관적이고 통합적인 데이터를 도출했다는 점에서 큰 의미가 있다. 본 연구를 기초로 앞으로도 연극·영화 분야 전반에 관한 경향분석 및 메타분석이 꾸준히 연구되길 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze master's theses(from years 1999 to 2010) in the fields of theater and film of The Graduate School of Arts at Chung-Ang University. In this meta-analytic study, 72 theses in the two fields are utilized. Among the 72 theses, the theses are rather evenly divided in terms of the majors: 38 in theater, and 34 in film. Interestingly, the topics of the theses are so diverse that almost all of the theses deal with different topics. Among the 34 theses in the field of film, there are three major topics: film production, TV drama production, and film criticism and analysis. In the field of theater, there were more diverse topics than in film. The topics of the master's theses are diverse indeed; they can be categorized into a few sub-areas: daily logs of productions, traditional masks, pansori(Korean traditional style operas), make-up, voice acting, musicals, fashion shows, magic shows, lighting, North Korean operas, acting training, performances, etc.
In addition, the quality of each thesis is sufficiently high to be used as good research data for future research in the fields. In the light of research methods, these are relatively skewed; researchers mostly used the methods of literature review (47.2%), and case study (44.4%), followed by comparative study (6.9%), and experimental research (2.7%).
This thesis is the first meta-analytic thesis in the field of theater and film of The Graduate School of Arts at Chung-Ang University. In that sense, this work is meaningful since it shows an objective bird's-eye view of the all theses in the two areas. It is this researcher's hope that further meta-analytic research in the fields of theater and film would be continued, based upon this study.
