조절초점과 득실 정보의 상호작용이 아동학대 신고의도에 미치는 효과 = Effects of Interaction Between Information of Benefit and Loss and Regulatory Focus on the Intention to Report Child Abuse

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to explore the effects of individuals’ regulatory focus (prevention vs. promotion) tendency (Study 1) and regulatory focus priming (Study 2) on the intention to report child abuse. Moreover, based on the findings of previous studies that prevention-focused people are motivated by avoiding loss and promotion-focused people are motivated by obtaining meaning and reward, this study presented a penalty rule about people who did not report child abuse, which can stimulate prevention-focused people, and thank-you letter to people who regained happiness by reporting child abuse, which can stimulate promotion-focused people, and observed how the relevant information interacts with regulatory focus. As a result, prevention-focused people or those primed by such tendency showed higher intention to report child abuse when provided with information about the penalty rule (vs. thank-you letter), whereas promotion-focused people or those primed by such tendency showed higher intention to report child abuse when provided with letters of appreciation (vs. penalty rule), thereby showing a binary interaction. This study provides implications for making promotional materials to report child abuse by applying regulatory focus, making child abuse prevention campaign videos, creating training materials for those obligated to report child abuse, and providing intrinsic motivation to report child abuse.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 개인의 조절초점(예방 vs. 촉진) 성향(연구 1)과 조절초점 점화(연구 2)가 아동학대 신고의도에 미치는 효과를 탐색하기 위해 이루어졌다. 또한 예방 초점인 사람은 손실을 피하는 것에 동기 부여되고, 촉진 초점인 사람은 의미와 보람을 얻는 것에 동기 부여된다는 선행 연구에 기초하여 예방초점을 자극할 수 있는 아동학대 미신고자 벌금규정 정보와 촉진 초점을 자극할 수 있는 아동학대 신고에 따라 행복을 되찾은 사람의 감사편지 정보를 제시한 후, 해당 정보와 조절초점이 어떻게 상호작용하는 지 관찰해 보았다. 결과적으로 예방 초점 성향의 사람 혹은 이에 점화된 사람은 벌금 규정(vs. 감사편지) 정보를 제시할 때 더 높은 아동학대 신고의도를 보였으나, 촉진 초점 성향의 사람 혹은 이에 점화된 사람은 감사편지(vs. 벌금 규정) 정보를 제시할 때 더 높은 아동학대 신고의도를 보이는 이원상호작용을 관찰할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 조절초점을 적용한 아동학대 신고 홍보물 제작, 아동학대 예방 캠페인 영상 제작, 아동학대 신고의무자 교육콘텐츠 제작, 아동학대 신고에 대한 내재적 동기 부여에 시사점을 준다.
