부모의 심리적 통제와 대학생 자녀의 대인관계문제에서 완벽주의적 자기제시와 부적응적 인지적 정서조절의 매개효과 = The Association between Parental Psychological Control and Interpersonal Relationship Problems among Undergraduate Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of perfectionistic self-presentation and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation between parental psychological control and interpersonal relationship problems. Methods: For this study, a total of 514 students, attending universities located in Seoul, Korea, were analyzed. The resulting data was interpreted using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling. Results: First, parental psychological control, perfectionistic self-presentation, maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation, and interpersonal relationship problems had a significant positive relationship. Second, perfectionistic self-presentation and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation were verified to have mediating effects under the influence of parental psychological control on interpersonal relationship problems. Third, the sequential mediating effects of perfectionistic self-presentation and maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation were confirmed. Conclusion: The finding hold significance in that they provide
a comprehensive understanding of the interpersonal relationship problems of undergraduate students with corresponding complaints at the site of counseling, while they also work as useful reference in solving these problems.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 부모의 심리적 통제와 대학생 자녀의 대인관계문제에서 완벽주의적 자기제시와 인지적 정서조절전략 중 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 매개효과를 확인하고 그 경로를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울지역 4년제 대학교에 재학 중 인 남녀 대학생을 대상으로 부모의 심리적통제척도, 대인관계문제척도, 완벽주의적 자기제시척도, 인지적 정서조절전략척도를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였고, 최종 514명의 자료를 SPSS 21.0 프로그램과 Mplus 7.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다.
본 연구 결과로는, 첫째, 부모의 심리적 통제와 완벽주의적 자기제시, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략, 대인관계문제는 모두 유의한 정적 상관이 있음을 확인하였다.
둘째, 부모의 심리적 통제와 자녀의 대인관계문제에서 완벽주의적 자기제시와 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 부분 매개효과가 검증되었다. 이러한 결과로 부모의 심리적 통제는 대학생 자녀의 대인관계문제에 직접적으로 영향을 미칠 뿐 만 아니라, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략을 통해서도 자녀의 대인관계문제에 영향을 미치는 주요한 변인임을 알 수 있었다. 즉 부모의 심리적 통제는 성인형성기의 대학생의 대인관계문제에 중. 고등시기의 자녀와 다르지 않게 여전히 영향을 끼치고 있음을 의미한다. 또한, 완벽주의적 자기제시와 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략이 부모의 심리적 통제가 있는 대학생 자녀의 대인관계문제의 발생과 유지에 기여하는 주요한 변인임을 확인하였다. 이는 상담현장에서 이러한 대인관계문제를 호소하는 대학생 내담자의 상담 시 환경적 요인이라 할 수 있는 부모의 심리적 통제 보다는 인지적 변인인 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략에 개입하는 것이 대학생의 대인관계문제를 해결하는데 더 효과적일 수 있음을 시사한다.
셋째 완벽주의적 자기제시와 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 순차적 매개효과가 검증되었다. 이러한 결과로 부모의 심리적 통제와 대인관계문제관계에서 완벽주의적 자기제시는 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략을 가속화하거나 촉진함으로써 대학생 자녀의 대인관계문제를 심화시키는 변인임을 알 수 있었다.
결론적으로 부모의 심리적 통제 수준이 높을수록 성격적 변인인 완벽주의적 자기제시 성향이 높아지고, 높아진 완벽주의적 자기제시성향은 인지적 변인이라 할 수 있는 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략을 높여 결과적으로 대학생 자녀의 대인관계문제가 심화될 수 있다는 것과 성인형성기의 대학생의 대인관계문제에 부모의 심리적 통제는 여전한 영향을 끼치는 주요한 변인임을 이번 연구 결과를 통해 알 수 있었다.
본 연구는 친밀감이 주요 과업인 대학생을 대상으로 대인관계문제에 영향을 끼치는 변인을 종합적으로 살펴 부모의 심리적 통제가 개인의 성격적 변인인 완벽주의적 자기제시, 인지적 변인이라 할 수 있는 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략의 단계를 거쳐 대학생 자녀의 대인관계문제로 이르는 경로를 실증적으로 검증하였다. 이에 대인관계문제를 호소하는 대학생들의 대인관계문제를 상담현장에서 종합적으로 이해하고 그 문제를 해결하는데 적절하고 유용한 자료를 제공할 수 있다는 점에 연구의 의의를 두고자 한다.
