This study aims to examine the influence of the visual perception motor program using the team-model technique on the disabled children's social techniques in accordance with the measuring period or the team-model technique, and also examine what visual perception motor programs have influence on social techniques.
The subjects of this study are 24 intellectually disabled children participating in motor program of M University. Dividing them into 12 for multidisciplinary team-model technique and another 12 for study transactional team-model technique, it was provided to them twice a week for 14 weeks. The preliminary test was performed by using the evaluation for social techniques and visual perception ability completed through pre-test. After completing the visual perception motor program using the team-model technique for 14 weeks, the posterior test was carried out.
The summary of this study results is like below.
1) The visual perception motor program using the team-model technique improved intellectually disabled children's social techniques in accordance with measuring period.
2) The visual perception motor program using multidisciplinary team-model technique was more effective than the visual perception motor program using the study transactional team-model technique.
3) The influential factors of the visual perception motor program using the multidisciplinary team-model technique on the disabled children's social techniques are like below.
(1) In the preliminary test of the visual perception program using the multidisciplinary team-model technique, the hand-eye coordination factor had influence on cooperativity, a sub-factor of social techniques. In the posterior test, however, the contour drawing factor had influence on cooperativity, a sub-factor of social techniques.
(2) In the preliminary test of the visual perception program using the multidisciplinary team-model technique, the spatial position factor had influence on self-assertiveness, a sub-factor of social techniques. In the posterior test, however, the figure-background factor had influence on self-assertiveness, a sub-factor of social techniques.
4) The influential factors of the visual perception motor program using the study transactional team-model technique are like below.
(1) In both preliminary and posterior tests of the visual perception program using the study transactional team-model technique, the hand-eye coordination factor had influence on cooperativity, a sub-factor of social techniques.
(2) In both preliminary and posterior tests of the visual perception program using the study transactional team-model technique, the spatial position factor had influence on self-assertiveness, a sub-factor of social techniques.
Since the objective of this study is to examine the influence of the visual perception motor program using the team-model technique on the disabled children's social techniques in accordance with measuring period or team-model technique and what visual perception motor program has influence on social techniques, its objective is considered to be pretty much achieved. It is necessary to have more studies on the actual application measures for the effect of long-term continuous training to improve intellectually disabled children's social techniques in the future.
