The elementary music put its focus on developing the attitude which enjoys and joins in the music while improving the basic musical ability. After learning the fundamental music concept, and based upon it the creative expression ability and thinking faculty can be cultivated through the singing, instrumenting, creation, and appreciation activities.
Yet, the musical course has the specific knowledge, function and evaluation system as well as the characteristics of the course which demands the speciality for the teacher in the theoretical and functional aspects. When estimating the ability of teachers who guide the music course in the elementary school with the three aspects such as the music knowledge, music function, and guiding skill, it is needed to consider whether the elementary school teacher are taking the training about the above aspects. This study was started with the inquiry what kind of the training the teachers who take the important role which even can conclude the success or failure of the education take and how they are performing the music course in the elementary school.
Of course, there would be various factors, most of teachers in the elementary school well know the study substance and target which are to be instructed in the classroom, but the way how the music instruction skills which are related with "what" and "how" are acquired is to be researched in this thesis.
The study issue was set up as follows. First, what kind of the music training the teachers in the elementary school take during the education? Second, what relationship do the music course in the music department of all the educational college in Korea have with music course in the elementary school? Third, the problem of the educational course of the music department tional course plan is also to be sought.
As the method for the study, in this research the music educational courses which are currently executed in all the educational college and the music educational course which are performed in the elementary school were reflected. For study of the educational course were investigated and analyzed through the handbook of all the colleges, literature research, and data of the internet in 11educational colleges in the whole country. In the educational course analysis, the substance, proportion, and problem were analyzed through the research of the open course condition of each the course, proportion between the practical course and theoretical course, and lecture content while referring the composition of the educational course of all the educational colleges and lecture plan. For the music educational course of the elementary school were analyzed. The 3rd and 6th grade students were the target people who can be divided with the music department.
The result. of the analysis of the educational course in the music department of the educational college and the music educational course in the elementary school showed that there was no common thing between the above two educational course.
Consequently, the effect of the music educational course of the educational college toward the music education in the elementary school is as follows. First, the educational course target in the elementary music is not fully being realized. Second, there is the insufficient cultivation for the comprehensive music feature. Third, the unfaithful educational lecture for the Korean traditional instrument is held. Forth, there was not enough reflection for the changing educational course.
The improvement plan for the above can be discussed as follows.
First, the composition committee for the educational course of the educational college is to be managed. Second, there is not enough guideline for the comprehensive music feature formation. Third, the study for the systematic Korean traditional educational course composition should be accomplished.
Lastly, it would be suggested to achieve the teaching-environment which can support the educational course.
