보호요인이 가정폭력경험 청소년의 적응에 미치는 영향 = Protective Factors on the Adjustment of Adolescents Who Have Experienced Family Violence

The present study was aimed to advance our understanding of adolescents’ responses to family violence as well as to examine the effects of family violence on adolescents’ adjustment. Moreover, protective factors that might help adolescents to adapt themselves in response to family violence were examined for setting up an effective intervening model of clinical social work practice for them. This study surveyed 703 adolescents who had experienced family violence at home.
Firstly, adolescents who lived in the marital violent home had both witnessed marital violence and experienced child violence by their parents. Different adjustment problems were observed in adolescents who had experienced severe family violence. In particular, family violence negatively influenced depression, delinquency, aggressiveness and low school achievement.
Secondly, self-esteem, a locus of control and public support were demonstrated to be involved in the determination of adolescents’ adjustment in response to family violence. Especially, the personal factor was the most significant factor in determining adolescents’ adjustment. For this reason, it is an important guideline of intervention for them.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 부부폭력가정에서 성장하는 청소년의 가정폭력경험 특성에 따른 적응의 어려움정도를 분석하고, 폭력가정 청소년의 적응을 돕는 보호요인을 규명하여 이들의 적응을 돕기 위한 가족복지실천 개입방향 모색의 기초자료를 제공하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적달성을 위해 중학생 703명을 대상으로 연구한 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 폭력가정의 청소년은 부부폭력을 목격하고, 자녀폭력도 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 부부폭력 목격경험과 자녀폭력 경험이 상대적으로 심각한 고위험집단의 청소년이 그렇지 않은 청소년에 비해 적응전반의 어려움정도가 높고, 구체적으로 우울․불안, 비행, 공격성, 학업 성취면에서 있어서 상대적으로 어려움 정도가 높았으나 철회와 사회적 미성숙에서는 차이가 없었다.
둘째, 가정폭력을 경험한 자녀의 적응에 미치는 보호요인에 관한 위계적 회귀분석 결과, 보호요인 중 자긍심과 내적통제, 공식적 지지가 유의미한 영향력을 보였다. 이러한 결과로 보아 자긍심, 내적통제, 그리고 공식적 지지는 가정폭력 경험 청소년의 적응을 돕는 보호요인으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 함의를 기초로 폭력가정 청소년을 돕기 위한 임상적 중재에서는 청소년의 가정폭력 경험과 보호요인을 동시에 고려하여 적응정도를 중재하는 것이 필요하며, 이들에 대한 개입에서는 자긍심, 내적통제 순의 개인 보호요인 강화가 우선시되는 것이 효과적이라고 예측된다.
