ADHD 청소년 대상 정서조절 집단프로그램의 개발을 위한 예비연구 = A Preliminary Study for the Development of Emotional Regulation Group Program for ADHD Adolescents

The purpose of this study was to develop an emotional regulation group program integrated with an experiential approach for ADHD adolescents. Through the 4 stages: planning, composing, assessment and revising, implementation, a more integrated emotional regulation group program which includes the experiential approach was developed to complement the limitations of the previous interventions based on behavioral and cognitive approach. As a preliminary study, the program was conducted for 10 sessions, 50 minutes once a week, to 6 ADHD adolescents who enrolled in a mental health support facility and its effect on emotional identification and expression ability, emotional regulation ability, positive and negative emotion experience and the effect size were investigated. As a result, firstly, the program had a significant effect on emotional identification and expression ability but it did not have a significant effect on positive and negative emotion experience. Secondly, the effect size on the improvement of emotional regulation ability was medium effect size. The significance of the study and the directions for future research were discussed.
