    Eugene O'Neill wrote a tragedy, Long Day's Journey Into Night with the intention of forgetting and erasing his unhappy family life. He had too much difficulty in and was not relieved of the mental and physical sufferings by his miserable family life and the strife among family members. Due to this unhappy situation, he did not also behave himself well in his home and in society.
    The emotions of alienation and love and hatred of his family members (his father was a miser and his mother a drug addict) caused him to create the darma.
    In Long Day's Journey Into Night, O'Neill expressed the reconciliation and harmony with his family members as well as the conflicts from the disharmony among them.
    Focusing on and expressing basically his small family life, O'Neill sought to find where people had to proceed in their wasteful realities. By doing so, O'Neill enhanced the tragedy. Indeed, Long Day's Journey Into Night is a masterpiece that contains and expresses profoundly the emotion of Love and Hatred from his real life and sublimates these emotion in positive perspectives.
