The data presented here are to determine the effects of nicotine concentration in the corn-meal standard medium on the rates of pupation and adult emergence in Drosophila melanogaster. (1) The effect of nicotine concentration was significantly inhibited on the rate of pupation in each test group. (2) In the rate of adult emergence, 0.01M and 0. 5M groups of nicotine concentrations were significantly lower rate than control group, respectively. (3) From the experimental results, we concluded that the effects of nicotine concentration in the medium was significantly inhibited on the rate of pupation and adult emergence in Drosophila, but the concentration was effect on the physiological character of the organs over 0.005M.
