초등학생의 환경행동과 환경지식, 통제소재, 환경태도 및 환경행동의도의 인과적 관계 = The Causal Relationship among Environmental Behavior, Environmental Knowledge, Locus of Control, Environmental Attitudes and Environmental Behavior Intention of Elementary School Students

The purpose of this study was to identify a causal relationship among environmental behavior, environmental knowledge, locus of control, environmental attitudes and environmental behavior intention of elementary school students. Basically, this study presumed all the elementary school students as a population. It sampled 960 students through selection of one fifth-year class and one sixth-year class through cooperator. A total of 832 copies of questionnaires were used for data analysis except for 100 copies like the one where insincerely responds to any question and outlier was found. As part of data analysis, I utilized the content validity ratio (CVR) for verification of content validity of questionnaires. To ensure the reliability and validity of questions, I performed technical statistics like frequency, ratio, average, standard deviation, skewness, and kurtosis via PASW 18.0, item-total correlation and the totality, and reliability analysis. I undertook a confirmatory factor analysis via AMOS 7.0 to ensure the validity of items together with a structural analysis in a bootstrapping method to perform a path analysis among variables and assess the suitability of model Based on the findings of the study, major conclusions of this study were as follows: First, causal model of this study is suitable to empirical analysis on research variables. Second, environmental attitudes and environmental behavior intention of elementary school students has direct effect on environmental behavior positively. However, environmental knowledge and locus of control has not direct effect on it. Third, environmental knowledge has not indirect effect on environmental behavior with the mediation effect of environmental attitudes and environmental behavior intention. Forth, locus of control has indirect effect on environmental behavior with the mediation effect of environmental attitudes. Fifth, environmental attitudes has indirect effect on environmental behavior with the mediation effect of environmental behavior intention.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 우리나라 초등학생의 환경행동과 환경지식, 통제소재, 환경태도 및 환경행동의도의 인과적 관계를 구명하는 데 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 우리나라 초등학교 5~6학년을 모집단으로 960명을 표집하였고 불성실 응답지와 이상치를 제외한 832명의 질문지를 분석에 활용하였다. 조사도구를 개발하기 위해 내용타당도 검증, 문항분석, 신뢰도분석, 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였고, 변인간 인과적 관계를 구명하기 위해 구조방정식 분석을 활용하였다.
이 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이 연구에서 설정한 변인 간 인과관계 모형은 초등학생을 대상으로 한 실증자료를 분석하기에 적합하며 독립변인과 종속변인 간의 인과관계를 타당하게 예측하였다. 둘째, 우리나라 초등학생의 환경행동에 영향을 미치는 변인은 환경태도와 환경행동의도이며 환경지식과 통제소재는 직접적으로 환경행동에 영향을 미치지는 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 환경지식은 환경태도에 직접적인 영향을 미치지만 환경행동에는 영향을 미치지 않았다. 넷째, 통제소재는 환경태도를 매개로 환경행동에 영향을 미치며 환경행동에 직접적으로 영향을 미치지는 않았다. 다섯째, 초등학생의 환경태도는 환경행동의도를 매개로 환경행동에 영향을 미치며 환경태도는 환경행동에 직접적으로도 영향을 미쳤다.
