Major piping system is one of most important requisites in thermal power plant. The design of piping support system with abnormal steam hammering condition is very important for safety operation. Steam hammering will be carefully considered because of excessive changes in pressure, vibration and noise.
In this paper, the design of the pipe support considering normal operating conditions is studied first. And then, the design of the pipe support considering the abnormal behavior is carried out and the pipe support results is compared to the pipe support results with normal operating conditions.
The results of comparison show that average increasement of support load is 9.3KN and the distance between maximum load and minimum load is 5.9 times. It means that some of loads are concentrated on a particular point. The study for the load distribution should be conducted in the future.
