Igor Stravinsky 음악시기에 의한 발레 작품연구 : (신고전주의 중심으로)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

음악과 무용의 관계에 있어서 아르망 마하비(Armand Machabey1886~1966)는 음악과 무용의 요소의 부분이나 측면에서 공통으로 통하는 성질을 지니고 있음을 강하게 주장하였다. 무용과 음악과의 관계는 나눌 수 없이 서로 연결하여 형성되어 왔고 그러한 결합의 정도가 음악형성에 크게 작용함으로써 청각으로 의식되는 무용승화에 중요한 요소로 제기된다는 것을 알 수 있다.
이에 본 연구는 발레 《풀치넬라》,《아폴론》 작품안에 나타난 무용과 음악의 신고전주의의 사조적 구조와 특징이 서로에게 미친 구체적 영향을 살펴보고, 이를 위해 두 발레 작품의 신고전주의의 사조적 특징이 작품안에 내제된 결합의 정도가 어떠한 형태로 나타나는지, 그 유사점과 차이점은 무엇인지 고찰해 보고자 하는 것에 본 연구의 목적이 있다.
이러한 연구 목적을 토대로 신고전주의 음악적 특징과 신고전주의 발레특징을 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 음악적 형식과 시대적 특징을 사용한다.
둘째, 18세기 협화음적인 스타일을 추구하였다.
셋째, 옛 작품의 구조적인 방식을 사용하였다.
넷째, 형식주의와 패러디방법을 사용하였다.
발레의 신고전주의 특징은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 추상적이다.
둘째, 비문학적 비표현주의적 모더니즘 경향이다.
셋째, 미니멀리즘 경향이다.
넷째, 혁신적인 스텝의 변화가 나타난다.

신고전주의 음악의 특성은 풀치 넬라 음악의 특성에서 모두 드러난 것으로 조사되었으며, 신고전주의 발레의 특성은 풀치 넬라 발레의 특성에서 첫 번째, 두 번째 및 네 번째로 밝혀졌다.
신고전주의 음악의 특성은 아폴로 음악의 특성에서 첫 번째, 세 번째 및 네 번째로 조사되었으며, 신고전주의 발레의 특성은 아폴로 발레의 특성에서 첫 번째, 두 번째 및 네 번째로 조사되었습니다.

두 개의 발레작품에 나타난 스트라빈스키 신고전주의와 발레작품의 사조적 특징을 고찰해 본 결과, 신고전주의 사조라 하더라도 음악과 발레간에 공통적인 사조적 특징이 없음을 알 수 있다. 이는 각각의 예술의 형태가 사조적 특징을 독자적으로 지니고 있음을 알 수 있다.
발레는 모든 예술 형태가 그러하듯 끊임없이 발전하고 변화를 이어오고 있다. 20세기 발레는 다른 분야의 현대 예술과 마찬가지로 다양한 실험적인 시도를 통해 변화를 주고 예술적 과정으로 전통을 고수하였다. 전통과 현대에 만남에 있어서 그 통로를 찾아 신고전주의의 현대화 작업은 이를 성공적으로 이루어 접목하였다고 하겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Regarding the relationship between music and dance, Armand Machabey (1886~1966) argued strongly that music and dance have common parts or aspects in their elements. The relationship between music and dance has been formed not being separated but being connected with each other, and it can be seen that the degree of such connection has been suggested as an important element in the sublimation of dance recognized through the auditory sense by impacting the formation of music.
Thus, this study was aimed at examining the specific impact of the structure and characteristics of the neoclassicism genre of dance and music in two ballet works《Pulcinella》and《Apollon》on each other, and investigating how the combination of the genre characteristics of neoclassicism in the two ballet works are represented, and what their similarities and differences are.
For this purpose, the characteristics of neoclassical music are summarized as follows.
First, classical musical forms and characteristics of the time were used.
Second, an 18th-century consonant style was pursued.
Third, the structural methods of old works were used.
Fourth, the formalism and parody methods were used.
Next, the characteristics of neoclassical ballet are as follows.
First, it is abstract.
Second, it has a trend of non-literal non-expressive modernism.
Third, it has a trend of minimalism.
Fourth, it exhibits innovative changes in step.

The characteristics of neoclassical music were investigated to be all shown in the characteristics of Fulcinella music, and the characteristics of neoclassical ballet were found to be the first, second, and fourth in the characteristics of Fulcinella ballet.
The characteristics of neoclassical music were investigated as the first, third, and fourth in the characteristics of Apollo music, and the characteristics of neoclassical ballet were investigated as the first, second, and fourth in the characteristics of Apollo ballet.

From the analysis of the genre characteristics of neoclassical music and ballet in the two ballet works of Stravinsky, it can be seen that common genre characteristics could not be found between music and ballet although both were neoclassical works. This implies that each form of art has its own genre characteristics.
Ballet has been constantly developing and changing just as other forms of art have been doing so. Like other areas of modern art, 20th-century ballet has made changes through various experimental attempts and at the same time, adhered to tradition through artistic processes. It may be suggested that modernization efforts of neoclassicism have been successful in finding a path in the meeting of tradition and modernity.
