대교약졸(大巧若拙)의 미적 지향으로 본 김수악의 춤 -진주교방 굿거리춤을 중심으로 = The Study of Korean Dance Aiming Aesthetics based on Daegyoyakjol - With Priority Given to Jinju Gyobang Gudgeori Chum of Kim, Su-Ak

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to investigate the association between Lao-tzu`s Philosophy and dance, thereby reaffirming the value of Korean dance. The study`s particular focus is on one of the key philosophies of Daegyoyakjol(the greatest skill seems to be clumsy) and this study aims to investigate how this philosophy is associated with the aesthetics of the Jinju Gyobang Gutgeori Dance by Kim, Su-Ak. In doing so, the author will look deep into the meaning of Lao-tzu`s philosophy of “Daegyoyakjol(大巧若拙)” and the aesthetics of “skill of skilllessness” and “speechlessness” that are aesthetic orientations of the philosophy, afterwards scope on the inner world of Kim, Su-Ak who had the aesthetics of the dance of “idle nature,” thereby annalistically revealing the origin of the philosophy of Daegyoyakjol in the artist`s life. And finally this study will identify how the Lao-tzu`s Philosophy in characteristic of “skill of skilllessness” that can be found from the Jinju Gyobang Gutgeori Dance, and “speechlessness” and “silence” shown in the artist`s life are reflected in her dance, thereby clarifying the association between the dance`s aesthetic orientations and Lao-tzu`s Philosophy. The ideology of a dance is revealed through the expression of the body, hence it captures empirical motives. Therefore, the foundational ideology of a dance is vital to the establishment of the dance`s aesthetics. This study pursues to look into various aspects of interrelations between the body`s inner world and dance`s movements, thereby identifying association between dance and ideology.
