      CAD/CAM 자카드 시스템을 활용한 인테리어 자카드 직물 디자인 연구 = 미국의 이카트 효과를 표현한 자카드 디자인을 중심으로

      Background : In modern society, the importance of spiritual value is increasing by the day alongside materialistic value. This tendency can be regarded as an essential element in the development of Jacquard design in today’s interior fabric industry, which seeks diversity and individuality.
      Methods : Considering the needs of consumers who seek sensibility, this study focuses on cases that combines the technology of the Jacquard industry with that of ikat, which has a traditional and natural tendency, and aims to provide practical methodologies that can be utilized toward the development of Jacquard designs in South Korea. As for the method and range of this study, analysis is limited to cases of jacquard fabric expressing the ikat, which were released by 3 companies selected as winners in the textile section by Interior Design, a periodical publication from the U.S. Among the studied cases, 2 fabric points are highlighted and their design process described based on the German EAT CAD/CAM Jacquard system.
      Result : The results of this study are as follows:
      First, it is possible to combine traditional diversity and the trend of times to develop a popular Jacquard fabric design with new value. Second, it is possible to express an ikat image on a pattern design using a CAD/CAM Jacquard system and raise the fabric’s artistic value through it. Third, the structure of a fabric can be rapidly changed through the system, enabling users to have a free command on ikat. Fourth, the unique color effect of Jacquard fabric can be expressed according to the weft settings when utilizing the system and the electronic Jacquard loom. Fifth, it is possible to express what seems like an image of ikat spreading by applying brightness change on Jacquard fabrics through combinations of the fabric structure, thereby giving the fabric a three-dimensional effect.
      Conclusion : Through the combination of traditional ikat and Jacquard industrial technology, new methodologies of fabric expressions that answer the needs of consumers today can be proposed, and higher value Jacquard fabric designs can be created.
