북한 산업미술의 전개과정 고찰 : 1994~2015

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Background : North Korean industrial design is a type of art which has been influenced by culture-arts and economic policy. North Korea has taken great strides in design since the start of 21st century.
Methods : This paper examines the design policy over the past 20 years as a way to collect and analyze journals articles of North Korean Arts published 1994-2015; this study is divided into two periods by Kim Jong Il(1994~2011) and Kim Jong Un(2012~2015) era.
Result : This paper found that North Korean design fell on hard times in the 90s for reason of economic stagnation, and that Workers‘ Party of Korea forced designers produced many propaganda posters and memorial monuments under Kim Jong Il regime. Since the turn of 21st century, North Korea has put emphasis on technical and scientific policy in design, and it planned to merge design organizations into one newly combined system, a National Design Center in 2010.
Conclusion : But as a result of that, this paper argues that theres a limit to the active growth of North Korean design because it has been passively grown by government in the past 20 years.
