외국선수들의 관점에서 바라본 태권도 품새경기의 가치와 발전방향 = The value and way to development of Taekwondo Poomsae from the viewpoint of foreign athlete

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 외국선수들의 새로운 관점에서 품새경기의 가치를 탐색하고, 앞으로 품새경기의 발전방향을 제시함으로써 국내는 물론 전 세계인들에게 존재의 가치를 인정받는 태권도 품새경기로 발전할 수 있도록 하는데 연구의 목적이 있으며, 그에 따른 결과는 다음과 같이 도출할 수 있었다. 첫 번째로 외국인들은 품새경기의 가치는 품새수련을 통해서 인내심, 겸손함, 또한 균형 있는 신체발달과 태권도 품새가 담고 있는 정신적 가치, 특히 품새경기에서는 입장하는 자세, 인사법, 도복차림, 띠의 길이 등 예의와 관련된 항목들이 평가되어지기 때문에 태권도예의에 대해 알게 되었다고 말하고 있다. 또한, 국내선수들은 지나친 경쟁으로 인해 경기에 대한 즐거움보다는 승부에 집착하는 모습들을 볼 수 있는데 그 반면에 외국선수들은 경기에 출전하는 자체를 즐긴다는 것이다. 이는 국내선수들이 본받아야 할 만한 정신일 것이다. 두 번째로 품새경기의 발전방향으로는 다양한 연령층을 위한 태권도 품새가 개발되어야 할 것이며, 이를 통해 품새에 대한 관심과 지지가 곧 수련인구의 증가로 나타날 것이다. 또한 각 대륙별 품새경기 활성화를 위해 경기횟수를 늘려야할 것이고, 각종 매스미디어를 통해 태권도 품새에 대한 전반적인 내용을 홍보해야 할 것이다. 또한 외국인들이 쉽게 이해할 수 있는 경기규칙과 경기품새가 빠른 시일 내에 개발되어 태권도의 화려한 기술들을 추가시켜야 세계적으로 영향력이 있는 품새경기로 발전할 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study focused on the value of poomsae competition from the foreign athlete by the in depth interview method and suggested the way to development for all the citizen of the world to recognize the value of the existence of poomsae competition. The result is as followed. First, foreign athlete said that they could understand the value of spirit included in poomsae and the courtesy of taekwondo by the evaluation at the poomsae competition about entering attitude, greeting way, outfit of uniform, length of the belt, etc. It is sorry for the internal athlete more to be focused on competition and victory but, for the foreign athlete to enjoy the competition itself. Second, it is necessary to develop poomsae for the all the age to enlarge the training population. And it is important to increase the matching time to revitalize the continental poomsae competition and promote the overall content of poomsae on the massmedia. It is also needed to develop easy game rule for the foreigner's well understanding and various technique to develop to be a globally influential game. So to speak, it is important to make effort to make global cizizen to understand taewondo poomsae competition easily and gathering various opinions of developing suggestion to make taewondo real global sport.
