소집단 조형 활동이 유아의 사회적 능력에 미치는 영향 = (The) Effect of small group art activity on young children's social competence|RISS 상세보기

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of small group art activity on young children's social competence.

For the purpose, following research questions were established.

1. How does small group art activity affect young children's social competence?
1-1. How does small group art activity affect young children's initiative of social competence?
1-2. How does small group art activity affect young children's cooperation of social competence?
1-3. How does small group art activity affect young children's sociability of social competence?

Subjects of this study were 50 five-year-old children attending a kindergarten attached to S elementary schools in Gwang-ju. The experimental group consisted of 25 children(13 boys, 12 girls) and the control group consisted of 25 children(12 boys, 13 girls).

The instrument for young children's social competence was the Young Children's Socal Competence Instrument (Woo. 2002).

Experimental group treatments had been conducted 15 times for 8 weeks from Oct. 23th to Dec. 13th, 2007.

To test the research questions, two groups' mean and standard deviations of social competence scores were calculated, and then t-tests were conducted to test group differences.

Results of this study were as follows :

First, the significant group difference of young children's social competence was found (p < .05). The small group art activities positively affected on young children's social competence.

Second, the significant group difference of young children's initiative was found (p < .05). The small group art activities positively affected on young children's initiative.

Third, the significant group difference of young children's cooperation was found (p < .05). The small group art activities positively affected on young children's cooperation.

Fourth, the significant group difference of young children's sociability was found (p < .05). The small group art activities positively affected on young children's sociability.

본 연구는 소집단 조형 활동이 유아의 사회적 능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보는 데 목적이 있다.

이와 같은 목적에 따라 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 선정하였다.

1. 소집단 조형 활동은 유아의 사회적 능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가?

연구 대상은 광주광역시에 위치한 S초등학교 병설유치원에 재원 중인 만 5세 유아 50명으로 실험집단 25명(남 13명, 여 12명), 통제집단 25명(남 12명, 여 13명)이었다.

연구 도구는 유아의 사회적 능력 검사 측정을 위하여 우수경(2002)이 제작한 유아의 사회적 능력 검사 도구를 사용하였다.

실험처치는 소집단 조형 활동을 2007년 10월 23일(화)부터 2007년 12월 13일(화)까지, 8주간 총 15회 실시하였다.

연구 문제를 검증하기 위하여 실험집단과 통제집단의 사회적 능력 검사의 평균과 표준편차를 구한 후 t검증을 실시하였다.

본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.

첫째, 소집단 조형 활동은 유아의 사회적 능력에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다(p < .05). 이는 소집단 조형 활동이 유아의 사회적 능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

둘째, 소집단 조형 활동은 유아의 사회적 능력 구성요인 중 주도성에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다(p < .05). 이는 소집단 조형 활동이 유아의 주도성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

셋째, 소집단 조형 활동은 유아의 사회적 능력 구성요인 중 협조성에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다(p < .05). 이는 소집단 조형 활동이 유아의 협조성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

넷째, 소집단 조형 활동은 유아의 사회적 능력 구성요인 중 사교성에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다(p < .05). 이는 소집단 조형 활동이 유아의 사교성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 볼 수 있다.
