The purpose of this study is to investigate the fatigue strength of butt, cruciform fillet, dissimilar metal weld joints manufactured by high strength steel with the tensile stress of 700 MPa. Two different cases of weld shapes for cruciform fillet joints such as one side fillet welded specimen and asymmetric both side fillet welded specimen are investigated. In case of butt weld joints, a series of fatigue tests was conducted to evaluate fatigue strength for the root gap difference with high strength steel with butt welded joints. A series of fatigue tests is performed to compare the fatigue strength of high strength ATOS70 steel weld joints with existing SM490A steel weld joints. Effective notch stress is used for the interpretation of the fatigue strength of high strength ATOS70 steel weld joints according to each specimen. Finite element analysis is used for calculating fatigue notch factors.
