The present study aimed to investigate the mediating effects of the relations between parent attachment, career indecision, unadaptive perfectionism for university students and to examine whether unadaptive perfectionism would mediate in the relations between parent attachment and career indecision. For the current, 308 male and female university students were recruited. Participants completed 3 self-report measures; Inventory of Parent Attachment-Revised(IPPA-R), Korean Career Indecision Inventory(KCII), Only unadaptive perfectionism in Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(MPS). Data were collected through administering covert parent attachment, career indecision, unadaptive perfectionism scale to participants and were analyzed by estimating descriptive statistics correlations and structural equation modeling. Results showed the followings: 1) There were significant correlations among parent attachment, career indecision and unadaptive perfectionism. 2) Unadaptive perfectionism partially mediated the relationship between parent attachment and career indecision.
The finding of the current research supports the previous studie's result for identification the relationship between parent attachment and career indecision.
In conclusion, there are two suggestions from the result of the present study. First, it is important to improve parent attachment and career indecision when university students suffer from career indecision. Second, When counsel the university students who suffer from career indecision, counselor should help them to have unadaptive perfectionism.
