ADHD 성향 대학 신입생의 대학생활적응

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학 입학 시점 ADHD(Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) 증상을 높게 보고한 학생들이 1학년을 끝마칠 때쯤 어떠한 심리적, 사회적, 학업적 대학생활적응을 보이는지 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2월 말(1차시기), 모 종합대학에 입학한 신입생 1,488명을 대상으로 ADHD 척도를 실시한 후, 여기서 임상수준의 ADHD 증상을 호소한 대학생들을 ADHD 성향군으로 정의하였다. 아울러 ADHD 성향군과 소속 단과대학 및 성별을 매칭하여 통제군을 구성하였다. 이들을 대상으로 1학년말 12월 중순(2차시기)에 대학생활적응을 알아보는 질문지를 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 1차시기 ADHD 증상은 2차시기의 우울, 분노표출, 분노억제, 학점과 유의미하게 관련되는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 ADHD 성향군을 다시 1차시기와 2차시기에 모두 임상수준의 ADHD 증상을 보고한 ‘T1 & T2 ADHD 성향군’과 1차시기에 ADHD 증상을 임상수준으로 보고하였으나 2차 시기에는 그렇지 않은 ‘TI만 ADHD 성향군’으로 구분하였다. 이상 두 집단과 통제집단을 대상으로 대학생활적응척도 상에서 차이가 있는지 일원변량분석을 실시하였다. ‘T1 & T2 ADHD 성향군’은 우울, 불안, 분노표출, 분노억제, 자아존중감, 친구지지, 인터넷 중독, 1학기 학점, 학습전략총점, 학습전략 중 자기효능감, 정교화, 조직화, 비판적 사고, 초인지 면에서 다른 두 집단에 비해서 저조한 적응을 보이는 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The present study was to examine whether university freshmen who reported high levels of Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms at the beginning of year would adjusted to the psychological, social and academic college life at the end of the year. Assesment for screening students with ADHD symptoms was conducted for 1,488 freshman at February(Time 1). Based on a survey of ADHD screening scale, students reported clinical level of ADHD symptoms were categorized into ADHD group. Then, students who matched with the ADHD group on college and sex were allocated to the normal control group. After 10 months later(Time 2), Students completed a web-based survey that assessed adjustment in multiple domains. The results showed that self-reported ADHD symptoms at Time 1 were correlated with high levels of depressive symptoms, anger-out, anger-in, & low levels of GPA at Time 2. Then, ADHD group was splitted into two groups and compared with control group on adaptation indices using ANOVA; one is ‘T1 & T2 ADHD group’ whose participants reported high levels of ADHD symptoms at both Time 1 and 2, the other is ‘T1 only ADHD group’ whose participants showed ADHD symptoms only at Time 1 and not Time 2. T1 & T2 ADHD group showed poorer adjustment than T1 only ADHD group and control group on depression, anxiety, anger-in, anger-out, self-esteem, perceived social support, internet addiction, GPA, several academic strategies such as self-efficacy, elaboration, organization, critical thinking, meta-cognition.
