본 연구는 지역사회에서 실행되고 있는 노인일자리 사업 참여자 간의 사회적관계가 현재생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 조사하고, 그 과정에서 자아존중감이 매개효과를 갖는지를 분석하여 노인문제 해결에 기여할 수 있는 방안을 모색할 목적으로 수행되었다.
이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 서울특별시 동대문구에서 동네 환경미화 활동을 하는 노인일자리사업에 참여하는 만65세 이상의 노인 420명을 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 설문조사 결과 회수된 설문지는 218부로 이를 데이터화하여 SPSS 22.0 통계프로그램을 사용하여 자료를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과가 나타났다.
첫째, 공익활동형 노인일자리 사업 참여 노인들의 참여자간의 사회적관계는 현재 생활만족도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 조사 결과 참여자간 사회적 관계가 긍정적일수록 현재 생활만족도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 공익활동형 노인일자리 사업 참여 노인들의 참여자간의 사회적관계는 자아존중감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 조사 결과 참여자 간 사회적관계가 긍정적일수록 자아존중감이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 공익활동형 노인일자리 사업 참여 노인들의 참여자간의 관계와 현재생활만족도와의 관계에서 자아존중감은 매개적 효과는 어떠한가에 대한 조사 결과 참여자 간 사회적관계와 현재 생활만족도과의 관계에서 자아존중감이 완전매개 효과를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 자아존중감의 매개효과에서 학력과 월평균 수입은 주요한 통제변수의 역할을 하고 있는 것으로 확인되었으며, 학력이 낮을수록, 월평균수입이 낮을수록 현재 생활만족도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다.
전체적인 결과를 요약하자면, 자아존중감이 높다면 참여자 간의 사회적관계와 현재 생활만족도에 긍정적인 효과를 가지고 올 수 있다는 것이다.
이러한 연구결과에 따른 제언은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 자아존중감 매개 효과에 영향을 미치는 것은 학력과 월평균수입으로 이 두 가지 수준이 비슷한 집단으로의 일자리 참여자들을 조별 편성하는 것이 참여자들의 자아존중감을 높이고 사회적관계를 향상시키는데 긍정적 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
둘째, 일자리 사업 참여하고 있는 대상자들의 전체적인 소득은 매우 낮은 수준으로 확인된다. 고령인 노인들의 건강 상태를 확인하여 근무가 어려운 상황이라면 주민센터에서 국민기초수급자 신청 안내를 하는 것이 바람직하다 할 것이다.
셋째, 우리마을클린도우미는 동주민센터별 여건에 따라 개별활동 또는 소그룹 활동으로 운영되고 있다. 노인일자리 참여자 간의 사회적관계를 향상하기 위해서는 개별활동으로의 업무 부여보다는 조별 활동으로 업무를 편성하는 것이 바람직하다 할 것이다.

A Study on the Effect of relationship among participants of public benefit-type senior job and Life Satisfaction : Focusing on the Mediating Role of Self-esteem

This study was conducted investigates the effect of social relationships among participants in the senior job project implemented in the local community on current life satisfaction and analyzes whether self-esteem has a mediating effect in the process to find ways to contribute to solving the elderly problem.
In order to achieve this research purpose, a survey was conducted on 420 elderly people over the age of 65 who participated in the senior job project to environmental beautification in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul. As a result of the survey, the collected questionnaire was made into data into 218 copies, and the data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 statistical program, and the following results were found.
First, as a result of a survey on how the social relationships among participants of the elderly who participated in the public interest-type senior job project affect the current life satisfaction, the more positive the social relationship between the participants, the higher the current life satisfaction.
Second, as a result of a survey on how social relationships among participants of senior in public interest-type employment projects for the elderly affect self-esteem, the more positive the social relationship between participants, the higher the self-esteem.
Third, as a result of a study on the mediating effect of self-esteem on the relationship between participants and current life satisfaction of the senior participating in public interest-type senior job projects, self-esteem was completely mediated in the relationship between social relationships and current life satisfaction. In addition, in the mediating effect of self-esteem, it was confirmed that educational background and average monthly income played the role of major control variables, and it was found that the lower the educational background and the lower the average monthly income, the higher the current life satisfaction.
To summarize the overall results, high self-esteem can have a positive effect on social relationships and current life satisfaction among participants.
Recommendations based on these research results are as follows.
First, it is the educational background and average monthly income that affects the self-esteem mediating effect, and it is expected that grouping job participants in groups with similar levels can play a positive role in increasing the self-esteem of the participants and improving social relationships.
Second, it is confirmed that the overall income of the subjects participating in the employment project is very low. If it is difficult to work by checking the health of the elderly, it would be desirable to guide the application for recipient of basic living at the community center.
Third, environmental beautification job is operated as an individual activity or small group activity depending on the conditions of each dong community center. In order to improve the social relationship among elderly job participants, it would be desirable to organize tasks as group activities rather than assigning tasks to individual activities.
