As the span of life is prolonged and physical health condition is improved, the new social problems such as poverty, disease, idleness and loneliness ar becoming an issue to today's old people. Also, As the conspicuous trend toward nuclear families and married-woman took part in society more, the demand for child day-care increased rapidly.
In the view of decrease of elderly's poverty and disease, Our country's welfare systems will be helpful to the old man.
However, Many senior citizens' concerns is not in the salaries but in the community participation, so hope to share their experience and knowledge by providing their service as teachers of the illiterate people, teachers of Chinese characters and counsellors for teenager.
The purpose of this study is to investigate effective measures for utilizing senior teachers in the infant day-care center. For attaining the purpose, face-to-face interview method were carried out against the heads of child care institutions, senior teachers and a detachment. In this study, 7samples were interviewed from senior teachers, 5 the heads of child care institutions and 2 detachments were interviewed.
As a result of analyzing the outcome, the following findings were given:
1) Many senior lecturers were appointed by Geriatrics Welfare Hall's invitation. and In the entrance process, any special application hand- book was not required.
2) Many senior lecturers were not accorded with their professional education. Moreover, Many senior lecturers were appointed by without specialized instruction of preschool education.
3) Many senior lecturers knows that they was under-valued by the general public. Most of all, It was estimated that their activities judged to a means of living.
Based on the literature research, some policy recommendations were suggested as followed: first, employment program for old people must provide various opportunities to secure living costs and culture costs, to recover their roles, to develop themselves. Second, many a course of study must be supplemented for the elderly to obtain important positions to the prolongation of life improvement of physical condition and to share their experience and knowledge by providing their service as teachers of the illiterate people. Third, in developing and utilizing senior teachers they must be co-related because they have dependent relations.
Lastly, as a result, the recommendations of senior lecturing activation were not suggested only for the elderly.
