As people often say “the eyes are the windows to the soul,” the eyes of a person betray a lot of cognitive information processed inside of one’s brain. By analyzing eye movements, not only can we predict what and where one pays attention, but also uncover the underlying decision-making process. We may even distinguish whether a person gazes over something with a particular purpose or not. In this study, we propose a gaze selection user interface that predicts binary decisions of a user when he or she is looking at a bi- stable figure called Necker cube as a visual trigger. The final goal of this study is to build a gaze selection tool with an eye-tracking interface at which a user can freely look uninterrupted, and select any bi-stable buttons at will without explicit actions taken. This interface will improve the current fixation-based gaze interaction systems which can not discern selection from navigation and selection without the fixation thresholds.
