비평 : 대안 정치를 위한 공간적 상상의 재고(再考): Doreen Massey(1944~2016)의 『공간을 위하여』(2005)에 대한 논평 = CRITIQUES : Reconsidering Spatial Imagination for Alternative Politics: A Critique on Doreen Massey(1944~2016)`s For Space(2005)

One of key foundations in globalization project is to discipline space and spatial imagination. Although many scholars in humanities and social science had emphasized the importance of space and the spatial, there were few studies that philosophically dedicate to explore the problematic of space and investigate it in terms of political possibility. In this context, Doreen Massey’s For Space(2005) is a rare and monumental work in that the author presents the possibility of alternative politics in terms of bold geographic imagination. Her imagination overarches the binary distinction of space and place. In For Space, Massey draws on relational geography and imagines space as an open and complex system of interconnected heterogeneous historical trajectories. Massey’s political vision alternative to globalization arises from the relational politics of space, on which the foreign and the heterogeneous are admitted with hospitality.
