대학생의 낭만적 애착과 부모의 초기 애착과의 관계에서 분리-개별화의 매개효과 = The Mediating Role of Separation-Individuation in the Association of College Students’ Attachment in Romantic relationships and Early Childhood Attachment to Their Parents

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating role of separation- individuation in the effects of parental attachment on attachment in romantic relationships among college students. Data were drawn from 290 students (157 males, 133 females) in Seoul, Korea, using the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment, Parent-Adolescent Separation (self-governance, emotional detachment), and Experiences in Close Relationships Scale-Revised.-Korean. Descriptive statistics, correlations, and hierarchical regressions were conducted for data analyses. Students who had formed secure attachment with parents showed greater self-governance and less emotional detachment. These students also experienced less anxious, more avoidant attachment in their romantic relationship. In addition, individuals with greater self-governance had less anxious, more avoidant attachment in their romantic relationship, and those with greater emotional detachment had more anxious attachment with their romantic partner. Tests of the mediation model demonstrate that self-governance as well as emotional detachment functions as a mediator in the linkage between parental attachment and romantic attachment in college students.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 생애초기 부모와 형성한 애착이 대학생의 낭만적 애착에 미치는 영향에서 분리-개별화의 매개효과를 탐색하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 연애경험이 있는 서울지역 대학생 290명(남학생 157명, 여학생 133명)이었으며, 부모와의 초기애착, 분리-개별화 및 낭만적 애착을 측정하기 위해, 부모 및 또래애착 척도의 개정본(IPPA-R) 중 부모관련 문항, 부모-청년 분리검사(PAS), 친밀관계 경험척도 개정본(ECRS-R-K)을 사용하였다. 연구문제 분석을 위해 상관분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실행한 결과, 부모애착이 안정적일수록 대학생의 자기관리 수준이 높고 정서적 탈애착이 낮았으며, 낭만적 관계에서 불안애착은 낮고 회피애착은 높았다. 또한 자기관리 수준이 높을수록 낭만적 관계에서 불안애착은 낮고 회피애착이 높았으며, 정서적 탈애착이 높을 경우 불안애착만 높았다. 부모와의 초기애착과 대학생의 불안애착과의 관계에서 자기관리와 정서적 탈애착이 완전 매개역할을 한 반면, 회피애착과의 관계에는 자기관리 만이 직, 간접으로 영향을 미쳐 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 대학생의 낭만적 애착 형성에 대한 이해를 넓히고, 부모와의 관계 또는 이성관계에서의 어려움에 관한 도움을 줄 수 있는 기초자료를 제공할 것으로 기대한다.
