부와 모에 대한 애착과 심리적 독립 및 여대생의 성인애착 = Parental Attachment, Psychological Separation from parents and Adult Attachment in female graduates

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 여대생의 성인애착에 영향을 미치는 요인으로서 부모에 대한 애착과 심리적 독립의 영향을 알아보고, 그들의 부모자녀관계를 통하여 여대생의 사회적 관계에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히며 성인 초기 부모자녀관계의 어려움에 실질적인 개입이 이루어질 수 있도록 하는데 그 목적이 있다.
본 연구는 서울과 경기 소재의 대학교 재학중인 여대생 601명을 대상으로 조사하였다. 사용한 각각의 측정도구는 다음과 같다. 부모와의 애착을 알아보기 위해 Armsden과 Greenberg(1987)가 제작하여 유은희(1991)가 수정·보완한 도구를 사용하였고, 부모로부터의 심리적 독립을 측정하기 위해 Hoffman(1984)이 제작하고 정은희(1993)가 번안·수정한 도구를 사용하였으며, 여대생의 성인애착을 알아보기 위해 Collins와 Read(1990)가 제작하고 김은정과 권정혜(1998)가 번안한 도구를 사용하였다.
수집된 자료는 SPSS 통계 프로그램을 통해 분석하였다. 연구대상의 사회·인구학적 배경의 일반적 특성을 알아보고자 빈도의 백분율을 산출하였고, 각 척도의 신뢰도를 검증하고자 Cronbach α 계수를 산출하였으며, 각 변인간의 관계를 알아보고자 Pearson's 상관계수를 산출하였다. 또한 자료분석을 위해 중다회귀분석, 경로분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 부모로부터 심리적 독립에 대해 부모와의 애착 중 부모 모두와의 애착이 유의한 영향역을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 부모와의 애착이 잘 형성되어 있을수록, 여대생은 부모의 인정과 지지를 받으며 정서적으로 친밀하고자 하는 욕구가 강하고 부모에 대한 부정적인 감정으로부터 자유로울 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 여대생의 성인애착에 대해 부모로부터의 심리적 독립 중 부모 모두로부터의 갈등적 독립이 유의한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 부모에 대한 부정적인 감정으로부터 자유로울수록, 여대생은 성인애착을 잘 형성해갈 수 있음을 나타냈다. 이를 통하여 여대생의 성인애착에 대한 부모와의 애착 및 부모로부터의 심리적 독립의 상대적 영향력을 알아본 결과, 여대생의 성인애착에 영향을 미치는 변인은 전반적으로 부모와의 애착이었으며, 다음으로는 부모로부터의 심리적 독립 중 갈등적 독립이 영향을 미쳤다. 이는 부모와의 애착이 잘 형성되어 있을수록, 그리고 부모에 대한 부정적인 감정으로부터 자유로울수록, 여대생은 성인애착을 잘 형성해갈 수 있으며, 이를 구체적으로 살펴보면, 사회적 관계를 맺어가는데 있어서 친구나 이성과 같이 중요한 타인을 신뢰하고 필요시에 기댈수 있으며, 가까워지는데 어려움이 적고 친밀한 관계를 편안하게 느끼며, 상대방이 떠나거나 자신이 버림받을지도 모른다는 불안이 낮음을 의미한다.
둘째, 부모와의 애착과 부모로부터의 심리적 독립 및 여대생의 성인애착 간의 경로를 살펴보면, 부모와의 애착은 부모로부터의 갈등적 독립에 의해 매개되어 여대생의 성인애착에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 부모와의 애착은 각각 어머니로부터의 갈등적 독립에 의해 매개되어 여대생의 의존에 영향을 미쳤고, 아버지로부터의 갈등적 독립에 의해 매개되어 여대생의 친밀에 영향을 미쳤으며, 부모 모두로부터의 갈등적 독립에 의해 매개되어 여대생의 불안에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는, 부모와의 애착이 잘 형성된 여대생의 경우 부모에 대한 부정적인 감정으로부터 자유로울 수 있는 갈등적 독립을 통하여 친구나 이성처럼 중요한 타인에게 성인애착을 잘 형성해 나갈 수 있음을 의미한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was (a) to investigate the relationship between parental attachment, psychological separation from parents and adult attachment in female university students, (b) to advance in our understanding of the female university students through the parent-child relationship in early adulthood, and also (c) to help effective intervention in the parent-child relationship.
For this, participants of this research were 601 female undergraduates of universities which is in Seoul and GyeongGi. All subjects were tested with Parent Attachment Inventory, Psychological Separation Inventory and Adult Attachment Scale. Thus, the collected data were analyzed by SPSS statistics program. The frequency and percentage were calculated to investigate the general characteristics of the subject. To investigate reliability and validity of scale, Cronbach α coefficient was calculated. For the each research question, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression analysis, and path analysis were used.
The results of this study can be summarized as following:
First, it demonstrated that paternal and maternal attachment influenced on psychological separation from parents. Also, both paternal and maternal conflictual independence among psychological separation from parents influenced on adult attachment in female university students. Thus, parental attachment influenced more than conflictual independence among psychological separation from parents on adult attachment in female university students.
Second, it presented that parental attachment was mediated by conflictual independence from parents, influenced on adult attachment in female university students. More concretely, parental attachment mediated the path from maternal conflictual independence and affected in dependence of female university students; parental attachment mediated the path from paternal conflictual independence and affected in closeness of female university students; parental attachment mediated the path from both paternal and maternal conflictual independence and affected in anxiety of female university students.
Therefore, this study suggested that parental attachment and psychological separation from parents predicted adult attachment in female university students.
