      This study as an alternative plan to resolve elementary students various problems, compared and analyzed the understanding difference between students and their parents in order to grasp the necessity and the desire on school social work. In the purpose of providng data to execute the school social work service in the near future, it also shows a direction on school social work relevant to service on the basis of the theory and the study result.

      For the purpose of above explanation, the study surveyed the actual conditions and the desire of the source of elementary students' trouble under their environmental system, and its object are total 835 including 432 primary students belonging to 4 primary schools in Nambu elementary hall, Taegu city and the rest 403 parents

      The source of elementary students' trouble is largely divided four areas such problems as family, person, school and a local community. Among of them, a local community problem was the most serious for students and their parents and its desire degree to improve was higher than any other areas. In particular their parents' desire degree to improve was stronger than that of students.

      Besides in a way to resolve a problem for elementary students, in general they discussed it with parents, and the second way is to solve it by themselves. The study showed the following result that solving method through discussion with their parents was so effective, while solving method by themselves was uneffective. Parents most favored a professional counselor in school as an intervention role to resolve students' problems and the next favored was a professional private counselor and teacher.

      Thus the intervention of social work in elementary school is very important in the preventional aspect on adolescent problems. In addition, it will be a task of elementary school which helps to communicate with students naturally and to keep close relationship with students' family.
