    The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 20 weeks of plyometric training on the muscular strength and power of the lower extremity in boxing players(aged 21.59±2.13 years). 20 subjects were divided into the plyometric training group. The plyometric training group maintained their usual activities and the plyometic group participated in the program that was designed to load the lower extremities. The strength by isokenetic dynamometry and power were assessed at 20 weeks. Analysis of covariance and paired t-test were used to analyze the data and the results were as follows. The muscular strength and power were different between the plyometric training groups. There showed a significant difference between pre and post training(p<.001). The plyometric training showed greater improvement than control training on the muscular strength and power. The trend observed in the strength and power between the groups suggest that plyometric training continued over a longer period of time may increase knee extensor strength. The results of this experiment show that plyometric training effects isokinetic muscular function. The reason is plyometric training increases our body`s strength and the power. In conclusion, Plyometric training is an effective method to maintain boxing athletics` performance.
