The purpose of this treatise is to examine what effects scientific activities through literature have on infants' scientific knowledge and attitude, and to inquire how scientific problem-solving and interest in the science activities in infants, change.
In this research, we can ask the following ;
1. What effects do scientific activies through literature have on the scientific problem-solving of infants?
2. Do scientific activies through literature increase infants' interest in these activities?
a. Will the number of participants, who experience scientific activities through literature, be higher than that of inexperienced infants?
b. Will the participating time of infants, who experience the science activity through literature, in the area of the scientific activity be longer than that of inexperienced infants?
The objects of this research were forty five year old infants. The experimental group of twenty infants was compared with another group of twenty infants. As the preliminary inspection, 'the scientific problem-solving' are examined, and as post inspection of two groups, the same ways are used.
In the case of this experiment, the experimental group was read the fairy talen for eight weeks and the related science activity was conducted together with it. Then, by using the related fairy tales and activities, the interest of the infants with regard to the science activities was examined. In the case of the comparative group, after reading the books for eight weeks, without the related science activities, the teacher introduced the activities voluntarily and examined the interest of the infants the relevant activities.
The differences between the two groups are compared by use of the t-verification.
The results of the research are as follows;
1. The science activities, through literature can improve the scientific problem-solving of infants. It Especially improves the discovery and statement of problems, and develops the proposition and applicability of ideas to problem-solving.
2. The science activities can increase the interest of infants in the fairy tale. Therefore, the more frequently infants' participat science activities, the more times of infants' participating it.
