This thesis focuses on both, the tongue centered Holy Spirit movement, namely narrow pentecostal movement and general Holy Spirit movement, namely wide pentecostal movement. These movements in general is called the? 'Pentecostal Movement',?which examines the origin of American Pentecostal Movement.
Chapter Ⅰ, the introduction, shows the following criteria: critical proposal, the purpose, the method, the sphere and the history for the study of Pentecostal Movement of Korea Assemblies of God. Chapter Ⅱ emphasizes two sides for studying of the Pentecostal Movement of Korea Assemblies of God. First, the Pentecostal Movement of Korea Assemblies of God roots on the church history of world pentecostal movement. Second, the Pentecostal Movement of Korea Assemblies of God which has the root of the history of the Korean Church. Not only is pentecostal movement in Korean Church is in close correlation with pentecostal movement of the American church, but also it is the movement with containing a traditional faith model in Korean church.
Chapter Ⅲ talks about that the works and the background of ideology building of Rev. Ja Sil Choi who represents the female ministers in Korea Assemblies of God with Rev. Sung Bong Lee which is the joining between Holiness and Pentecost. It looks to the characteristic of her ministry through starting and processing of her pentecostal movement with Rev. David Yong Gi Cho who met her at bible school. This chapter's emphasizes about her fasting prayer and movement of prayer house.
Chapter Ⅳ talks about the ministry and the background of ideology building of Rev. David Yong Gi Cho, who represents a minister of Korea Assemblies of God through the meeting with Rev. Ja Sil Choi and other drivers of world pentecostal movement. His experience of the Holy Spirit and calling from God. It also talks about movement of whole people redemption which is a distinguished ministry of Rev. David Yong Gi Cho.
Chapter Ⅴ focuses the latest tendencies of the drivers of pentecostal movement of Korea Assemblies of God. First, Rev. Sung Kyu Choi (Incheon Full Gospel Church) who contributes to unite the churches and filial piety movement. Second, Rev. Ki Ho Yum (Holy Spirit Church) who drives revival church movement. Third, Rev. Jae Phil Yu (Nowon Full Gospel Church) who works compassion ministry for the underprivileged. Fourth, Dr. Moon Ok Park (Hansei University) who works for education ministry and discipleship.?These four's pentecostal movement is showing variety and dynamism of the latest pentecostal movement of Korea Assemblies of God.
Chapter Ⅵ looks into the characteristics and a positive and a negative side of Pentecostal Movement of Korea Assembly of God. And it shows a direction of development in future with thinking of the role of Pentecostal Movement of Korea Assemblies of God in Korean Church.
The conclusion, Chapter Ⅶ summarized all contents for? evaluating and giving a proposal.
The thesis said that Pentecostal Movement is not stayed on theory and knowledge, but it is movement of whole people redemption with personal feeling and experience. It is empirical rather than epistemological and? active faith movement rather than speculative. It is the movement that God's Word is applied at the field of life with the power and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Especially, the thesis sees the appearance and the latest situation of Pentecostal Movement of Korea Assemblies of God through its representing ministers with American Pentecostal Movement.
Therefore, I hope that this thesis will be based on in-depth study of the American and Korean Pentecostal Movement and on various studies about the characteristics of ministry and the influence on the Korean Churches of Pentecostal Movement in Korea Assemblies of God in future.
What is more, I also hope that the thesis will be useful to make an evaluation and a problem of Pentecostal Movement of Korea Assemblies of God, clearly to show a fresh model of Korean Biblical church, and to have steady efforts for an up-to-date change and opening a breach of new revival.
