초등학생의 도시생태교육을 위한 베를레제 깔때기 탐구 모듈의 개발 및 적용 = Development and Application of Berlese Funnel Exploration Module for Urban Education of Elementary School Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 베를레제 깔때기(Berlese funnel)를 활용하여 도시생태교육 학습 모듈을 개발하고 적용하여 학생들의 생태적 지식과 태도를 개발하는 데에 목적이 있다. 연구자는 2022년 5월부터 2023년 10월까지 총 3단계에 걸친 실행연구를 실시하였다. 1차 실행을 통해 베를레제 깔때기 탐구의 적합한 실험 방법을 탐색하였으며 2차 실행에서는 초등학교 4학년 1개 학급 25명을 대상으로 베를레제 깔때기 탐구를 실시하였다. 3차 실행에서는 과학과 교육과정의 ‘생물과 환경’ 단원과 연계하여 총 10차시의 ‘베를레제 깔때기 탐구를 활용한 도시생태교육 모듈’을 개발하여, 초등학교 6학년 1개 학급 28명을 대상으로 적용하고 그 효과를 확인하였다. 연구 결과로는 첫째, 도시생태교육에 적합한 베를레제 깔때기 탐구의 실험 도구와 방법(체의 mesh size, 광원의 종류, 설치 시간 등)을 도출하였다. 둘째, 초등 탐구로써 베를레제 깔때기의 적합성을 확인하였다. 셋째, ‘베를레제 깔때기 활용 도시생태교육 학습 모듈’을 개발하여 적용한 후 개념도, 지식 평가, 사후 설문, 면담 등을 분석한 결과 초등학생들의 생태적 지식과 태도가 개발되었음을 관찰되었다. 이 연구는 기존의 초등교육에서 자주 시도되지 않았던 베를레제 깔때기 탐구를 초등 탐구에 도입했다는 점과 학교 안 자연을 배경으로 하여 접근성이 좋은 도시생태교육을 실현함으로써 학생들의 생태적 지식과 태도를 향상시킬 수 있다는 데 의미가 있다고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to develop students' ecological knowledge and attitudes by developing and applying the 'Urban Ecological Education Module using Berlese Funnel'. The researcher conducted a three-step action research from May 2022 to October 2023. In the first step, the researcher explored the optimal experimental tools and methods for Berlese funnel exploration. In the second step, the researcher applied the Berlese funnel exploration to 4th graders of elementary school. In the third step, the researcher developed an urban ecological education module in connection with the 'Biology and Environment' unit in the science curriculum. The module consists of 10 lessons, and was applied to 6th graders of elementary school and confirmed its effectiveness. As a result, the researcher discovered the experimental tools and methods(mesh size of the sieve, type of light source, installation time etc). And the suitability of Berlese funnel exploration was confirmed for elementary exploration. After developing and applying the "Urban Ecological Education Module using Berlese Funnel," it was observed that elementary school students' ecological knowledge and attitudes were developed as a result of analyzing conceptual maps, knowledge evaluations, post-questionnaires, and interviews. This study is meaningful in that it introduced Berlese funnel exploration into elementary education, which was not frequently attempted and that it conducted accessible urban ecological education in the school garden and developed ecological knowledge and attitudes.
